I'm getting a little bit of smoke out of my exhaust also. I've heard that bad valve stem seals would cause that and also make it appear to be damp on my exhaust manifold but I want to double check and get some opinions on it, and what I should do.

The smoke doesn't happen all the time, it happens on start up if I stop driving then turn my car off for like a minute and start it back up. It also does it when I down shift to slow down by compression/engine braking.

And prob when you pull off srom stop lights and signs, and after extened idle periods....

Classic symtoms of bad valve stem seals....

Get a set of the Vition blue seals and install them.. both intake and exhaust...

Should cure your smoke issues... you will have to drive a bit and heat up the whole exhaust system to burn out any oil in it

I found this cheap little tool for removing your springs and replacing the seals with your head still on. Real cheap and proven, the guys over at the evolution forums swear by it, better than the 100$+ solutions out there for the cash.

I'll be doing this in the next few weeks, ill stop back in once I use the tool and post some results.

Okay. I'll be waiting for your reply to see how it works. Hopefully it's before the 30th since I probably won't be doing mine until then. It's going to be my first time doing something like this by myself, so I'm going to go over to my friends house and we are going to do it on his wife's eclipse first so I can remember how to properly do everything. I'm not trying to pull the head so if this tool really works, let me know please!

I don't know how it won't work, frankly. I've heard so many good things about it, and they sell like hotcakes on ebay. The company that sells them sold 100 in less than a week. The auction i bought mine from started with 10 on sunday, and they will be sold out by the time you read this message most likely. I will let you know how it goes :thumb:

Alright then. I'll probably pick one up then here in the near future depending on if my friend wants to pull the head of his wife's car or not.
