i am not wanting to put the heavy ass stock bumpers back on the front or rear and notices dejon tools offers sheet metal bumpers that reduce the weight considerably..heres a link

http://www.dejontool.web.aplus.net/DSM-BUM.htm

only thing is i really dont feel like spending $225 for the set that doesnt even come pre-assembled. are they really worth this much?

other question is, has anyone even fabricated there own bracket that lets you still put on the front and rear bumper covers, but leave the actual heavy bumpers off? if so please tell me how you did it, or if you have pics that would be great...

im not worried about safety, just weight reduction and being able to mount the bumper covers without having to worry about them flapping of fly off at high speeds...thanx

whats the point if it doesn't help with the safety? I don't even have one in the back, but would definantly what a rear bumper in the front

they allow you to bolt on the factory bumper covers like stock but save 50lbs in weight

just make one yourself

besides, if you are front wheel drive this is one place you wont feel bad about having a big heavy bumper

im gonna try and make one when the time comes...just wanted to see if anyone else has before and it would make it easier with some pics..

im AWD....i want all possible extra weight out, you should see my interior:D

I have the Dejon bumpers. They are pretty nice. I don't have the rear in yet, but the front is in. I had to do some hacking to put the FMIC in, but since it is aluminum it was real easy with a dremel tool. I got the pair on sale for $200.

do you think one could fabricate something similar pretty easily, or is it a pretty detailed piece?
