i had a 3 inch downpipe for a while now and i just fixed the o2 censor and the check engine went off, but now its back on. Could it be blown again? Do I need to upgrade the o2 censor? please help!!

If you look at his mods list, you will see that he has the N1 downpipe(it is a cat eliminator DP):)

You CEL is on because you have no cat which is causing the 2nd 02 sensor to throw a code. Its not hurting anything except some people dont like to look at it. You can unscrew the 2nd sensor and clamp it to the exhaust pipe. Then plug the 02 sensor hole with a bolt. This cures the CEL for most, I said most not all, 2G's in you situation. It would work on my car sometimes, then sometimes I would still get the CEL. The bolt is 18 X 1.5

That's not true on 95s. 96+ will have a CEL w/o a cat, but 90-95 won't.

What about using o2 simulators, they make them for OBDII cars, what is happening is that your exhaust flow goes passed the second o2 sensor faster than it can read it and the ECU can't figure out what is going on, henceforth why you are getting a CEL, your o2 sensor may be burned out, but I somewhat doubt it.

What sort of admissions are you trying to get it through? College admissions?

If you are asking about getting it through emissions as is, then probably not. Your N1 downpipe has no cat. Which would be an instant red flag on most emissions testing I am aware of. If you can bolt your stock downpipe and cat back up, you might have better odds at passing emissions.

Why did you toss the stock parts? Did it go bad? Either way, you should be able to buy used stock parts, that are good enough to pass the test. Make sure that you have everything you need so that the stock downpipe+ cat combo will bolt on to your aftermarket cat back exhaust.

Your BOV may cause problems passing emissions too, it depends on how strict the testing is where you are. Find that out first, then you can figure out what parts you need to swap out.

On my 95 TSI AWD, I would always get a CEL without the cat. However on my 98 GSX with no cat, I have never received a CEL.
