Taylor wires, work very well

I just bought a set of the 8mm Taylor racing wires and they made all the diffrence. If anyone is interested, in my own personel opinion they are very good, well fit wires. Feel free to reply and tell me what you think.

summit racing has them. I believe they have 10.4mm taylors as well.

Yea i bought the 10.4 thunder volts or something liek that each wire was about 4inchs to long, so i returned them. They worked fine, but they jsut looked werid all bunched up in there.

enjoy them while they last. i used mine (10.x mm) for 2 months before they arched & the silicone ripped like toilet paper. good luck, hope this doesn't happen to you

I used mine for about 3weeks and then returned them, no questions asked, just clean them off before u send them back.

I always liked MSD 8.5 Wires, they work pretty good for me, but I wonder the same thing 97:
How do you feel all that difference from a set of wires...? did you actually measure the volts and amps...? or were your old wires just very very bad...?

I dont suggest anyone get the Taylor 10.4s unless they have a 1st gen. On a 1st gen the wires are a little longer due to how the coil pack is mounted. Im running a 91 coil pack inside a 1st gen IM so the Taylor 10.4s are fine for me.

I was just walking into a local parts dealer and I asked if they had any wires and the guys said yea. He showed me and i shit my pants. They were custom cut to fit my car perfectly. The only reason I said they made a diffrence is because the wires i had on before were so shitty. They were some bosch wires, and when i took them off they fell apart. The metal clips just stuck to my plugs while the rest of the plug came out.

uuummm.... aren't all plug wires custom cut to the needs of the engine onto which they are to be placed?

No not all wires come custom fit, some you have to cut and crimp your self, and if you read what was said earlier in the text someone else mentioned that they bought a set, and all the wires were like a foot long. If they are all the same length they would not be custom fit for your car!

hummm... I have just never purchased a set of wires that didn't fit... you would think that if the box says "96 GST, or 92 Jeep Cheroke 4.0 or 89 Camaro 305... " that they would be made to fit that car... you are probabally right... I have just personally never purchased a set of wires that didn't fit perfect, right out of the box... what are these brands that aren't made for the specific aplication...? I have run nothing but Bosch platinum on all my I6's and V8's... and nothing but MSD on my I4's ... so I am FAR from experianced in other brands...

there are sets like accel that you have to custom fit for your car, and there are other brands i can really think of. But you are right most are a direct fit if the box says the car.

I have the 10.4 Race wires from Taylor,since I own a 1G with a 4G63 the wires had to be special order only though summit..they were shipped straight from the company to summit before I got them.total time was about 2 weeks...I was really impressed with the quality of the wires and they look great under the hood too......

I have been running the Taylors for 2 years now...not a single problem with them. The Pro .409 Race wires fit perfectly.

Just had a decently high HP car here for dyno tuning, had misfires above ~ 19 PSI, ripped off the brand new fancy blue Taylor wires, threw on an old high mile set of NGK's out of the junk drawer that came off a junkyard engine, misfire went away, tuning continued.

Draw you own conclusions.

I've had random misfire code with both Magnecor 8.5s and Taylor 10.4s. I contribute it more to the 6 bolt in a 2g swap rather then the wires.

Very old thread I know but did Taylor fix the length issue with the spiro-pro and thunderVolt wires? I'm looking to upgrade my ignition due to upper rpm issues and spark blow out. So I may be ordering some non projected plugs and thought about getting better wires also.
