Er, no. Diesel turbos tend to have different geometries, and serious diesels run enormous boost; 30-50psi is quite common.
They are nothing more than a big furnace and work the opposite of a gas engine. The more fuel you give a diesel the hotter it burns, where a gas engine does the opposite. They also have no throttle plate or ignition. Engine speed, and whether it runs or not is determined soley by the fuel system. When you turn the key off in a diesel, it shuts down the fuel flow, or it would keep running.Originally posted by JayHass
Diesel turbo's are engineering for a TOTALLY different engine called...a DIESEL engine.
