I have an turbo oil feed relocation kit on a 92 TSI AWD that is half installed, PLEASE HELP! I need to remove the plug from the top hole that faces the front bumper on the oil pump(see attached poor quality pic.) I tried an 8mm but it slipped in the hole and I almost broke my fingers when they hit the frame. I need to know what size hex to use for removing this plug. Please help soon, I would like to drive my car this weekend.

I need the allen size to remove the plug.

if you are talking about were you can run an oil cooler thouse are 16mm*1.5

On my 91 it was a 5/16th hex head. Better get the oil or the plug heated up. It's got threadlocker on it. I couldn't budge it until after the car was hot.

Who's SS oil feed are you using? You can look at RRE's instructions for some ideas.

Getting the new fitting in and tight was a pain, kept hitting the frame.
I sleeved the SS line with corragated wiring loom plastic and ran it under the AC fan shroud and up between the two fans to the turbo. A lot easier than behind the turbo or using tie wraps to keep the line from rubbing.

I made my own kit. I was in a pinch and needed one right away, most places were out of stock, and the ones who had them in stock were too far away. I could have used the places who had them but to get installed for the weekend it would have to be shipped next day air (because of the holiday.) There is a place in my town that can make anything you can ask for, as long as it is a hose, everything they do is custom made to your spec. They are expensive and it was time consuming but it would have cost more to get one elsewhere (over $100 for the kit and shipping ups next day air to Florida.)

I looked at RRE's install help; A friend is bringing a propane torch over tommorrow. Hopefully my plug is a 5/16" hex like yours and heating the housing will do the trick. Thanks for your help, I'll let you guys know how it goes tommorrow... Joe

Actually I used an 8mm, I thought it slipped but it did break free (when I almost broke my fingers by punching the frame.) It was really hard to extract it felt as if the treads were galled (sp?) It seems to me by comparison that the 5/16 is slightly smaller than an 8mm so I used the 8mm it fit better... Joe

Autometer makes a 4-an oil line (for 27.00 from Summit). It is for one of their oil pressure gauges. If you need to go Banjo, they're extra, of course. 4 feet long.
