Alright, I'm sort of stumped as to where to go next. This is concerning my direction for modifications. My car is a 91 GSX, so far on the car I have BR 3" DP, BR 3" high flow cat, BR 3" Cat-back, Walbro 255lph high pressure pump (re-wire in the works), K&N Filter, Hacked up air can, Silencer behind the MAS removed, Hallman manual boost controller (at 17psi right now), Autometer A/F and 30-0-30 boost gauge. I also have non-performance mods, well, I have a 2G OEM shift knob and the symborski shifter kit.
My point is, I'm not sure what to do next. I've been told it's very important to get an AFPR, I also know I'll need injectors, AFC and another MAS soon if I don't want to be overrunning the stock MAS. I have a pretty nice deal on a small 16G right now as well. But, all of this is dependent on money...I'm in college so I'm on a relatively tight budget. I can either pick up the small 16G and be done with mods this month, or maybe pick up an AFPR and start workin for injectors and the such.
Okay, so, this is my prediciment. Any and all advice/suggestions are welcome. My whole purpose with this car is to get down the 1320 in the low to mid 12's, and still be daily driven. I understand that everyone and their mother wants to do this and a lot of people don't understand what it's going to take (and maybe I don't as well).

Sounds like u are on the right track. Here's my opinion. If u have a deal (exceptionally good one, as in no rebuild) then I'ld grab the 16G first. Economically speaking this might save u a few bux later on. The injectors, AFC, and FPR are all needed and work in unison to provide that mid 12 time. Just like exhaust and intake. U'll be hindered by restrictions and when u fix that, u'll inadvertantly create another one ;p. Anyways, if not grab the AFC and start on the injectors. At least u can extract some more power from that 14b and spend that free time learning to tune. FPR I would say comes last, but will be the icing on the cake. Good luck!

I appreciate the post asain312, I was expecting to get flamed and instead I got a solid response. The 16G has less than 2000 miles on it, I've looked at/examined it in person, and is coming from a local reputable shop. And the price is pretty decent to boot. So I probably will pick that up now, and then start working for injectors and the other slew of parts I'll need.

Also, you can hold off on doing the rewire of the fuel pump, the 255 should flow plenty well enough as is, the rewire just makes it that much more likely to overrun the stock FPR at idle. Dont forget a logger, that helps you know how much to adjust your AFC, or whatever else you get. EGT gauge is nice to have as a backup just to let you know something isnt going majorly wrong, that and boost gauge seems good enough for gauges, everything else(including O2 voltage) I get from the datalogger.

Hmm. Why not get the ramcharger MAF translator / GM MAF sensor (www.ramchargers.com Not sure of the link for the 1g). That elminates your need for a new MAS later on, the MAS overrun problem, and from the threads between DSM Talk and Tuners, you can tune somewhat off of that. It will free up some of the flow problems associated with the stock MAS. I ordered mine about a week ago, and I'm waiting eagerly for it to get here.

Actually I'm ordering my pocket logger tomorrow morning. As far as the GM MAF is concerned, that's what I'm going for. However, I just went and looked at their site and I'm a bit confused. I see the MAF translator for the 1g t/e/l, is that the sensor and the adapter I need, or is the sensor all I need? I'll probably have to search through the huge thread that was started awhile ago, but if someone knows off the top of their head the part # or just what I need in general, I would greatly appreciate it. And one more dumb question...how much gain would I see from this new MAS? Always thinking about bang for the buck you know....us poor college kids gotta. heh
