I removed my bov bypass hose that feeds into the turbo intake and caped thehose but now my car seems to be surging I know you need a filter to cap the bov so nothing gets in there but I cant figure out how that would effect any thing like the mas or somthing thanks for your help

woo thank you detective I know that the tube being off is causing a problem but I want to some how get around it or know exactly why it dosnt thanks anyway

You want to keep the venting?

Here's your options to do it right:

1) Switch to a speed-density system (i.e. standalone, VPC, EMS, etc.)
2) Switch to a blow-through style MAS

Just put the damn hose back on.

Here's the deal: just behind your air intake, after the air filter, is the Mass Air Sensor. Pretty much through magic -there is an explanation about how it works, I just don't believe it- as the engine draws air through the MAS, it determines how much air has come past it. That air goes on to the turbo, through the intercooler, back up the Upper Intercooler Pipe (where the BOV is) and on past the throttle and then on in to the engine. Trouble is, as the turbo pulls in this given amount of air, the Engine Control Unit decides X amount of air will need Y amount of gas... which include the air the BOV sends back through the turbine when you close the throttle, such as on a upshift. So when you let the BOV just dump to nowhere, the ECU has already counted on that air coming back into the combustion chambers, and adds gas to match-- when that air isn't there, the engine stumbles because its being flooded. This also means you're flushing lubricating oil off the cylinder walls, as well as damaging your engine oil. It is bad. It is a bad thing to do.

I know, I understand how a mas airflow sensor works and what not I just would realy appreciate a more detailed explanation on how to keep venting and not screw things up thanks a bunch every one

Basically what everyone just said was put the hose back on! That is the easiest and most cost-effective solution to your problem. You could also get a VPC and completely get rid of the MAS but not everyone has money coming out their a$$. So basically what I and everyone one else is saying is:
1)put the dump tube back on
2)get used to running rich with poor gas mileage
or
3)$pend $pend $pend

umm

untill you do one of thouhgs.. i think there saying put the stupid hose back on..

put the hose back on. venting bov's is rice. did you buy your turbo for speed or sound. dont be a rice boy.

There is no real way to keep the idle surge from happening or running rich every time you slow down or shift unless you buy a VPC and an Air/Fuel controller. Just put the hose back on.

Buy the DSM Translater and use the MAF as a " Blow Thru" style MAF , and u can keep venting.
