Clipped turbo

I am about to order my FP Big16G ... it is gunna be ported, and I have to option to get it clipped... should I spend the extra little bit of money? Or is the extra lag worth it?

A big 16G spools fast enough as it is, you have a second gen with the higher compression pistons, etc. so I would go ahead and have it clipped. You'll like the extra top end pull it will give you, and I realistically don't think you'll suffer any spool-up problems.

Clip the turbo for the top end power. Get a 2g ported and polished exhaust manifold (new from dealership $175ish). Port match to turbine housing and gasket match to exhaust ports from head. Clean all casting
marks on the inside of the manifold removing any rough or sharp edges.
This can be done for free just takes a little time. Replacing the exhaust manifold should negate any lag created by the clip.

You should be very happy with a Big 16G turbo. It will take you farther then any T-2small turbo combo.

Well, I just got off the phone with Forced Performance... It will be here around wed next week... its a Big16G ported and clipped 10* w/ 34mm wastegate mod, an install kit, walbro 255, SS Oil Line, and a JoeP MBC... My S-AFC should be getting delivered any time this afternoon, and my i/c pipes should be here in the middle of next week.... wow.. my car is gunna be a lot faster.... hehehehehehe... im excited!! woohoo!!

I did not see any exhaust work to your car on the mods page. IF you still have the stock exhaust on your car that turbo is going to lag like there is no tomorrow.

Yeah, that was something else that will be here next week... 3" 02 elim. w/ External dump tube turboback from rnrracing.com..I just didnt mention that in my post! Ill try to get some pics of me and my friend doing the installs... should be interesting!
