Woodbury,
I was wondering if any of you knew where I could get a turbo timer, gauge pod, and gauges for a good price. I am looking for a digital tt (maybe Greddy, but not stuck on it). I would also like to get a boost gauge (maker doesn't matter) and a pod (perferably one that covers my entire A-pillar. I have a 2nd gen).

I am not really sure what other gauges to look at getting to fill the pod. Suggestions?

Thanks for any advice or suggestions you can give me!

Annie

I got an Apexi gauge because I liked the blue glo. Depending on how far you want to take the mods on the car, you could put an air/fuel gauge and an exhaust temp gauge in there.

Careful with the TT. I recently fitted a Clifford alarm system to the car and was talking to the guy that installed it about a TT and he told me that the company that made the alarm had just designed one that is compatible with the alarm. Apparently, (and I haven't checked this out) some TT's aren't compatible with some alarms. Therefore if you put a sophisticated alarm on and a TT you might have to wait by the car for the TT to go off before you can activate the alarm. I don't know If this is 100% true, as I said I haven't had a chance to look into it yt. Some of the guys on the site might be able to verify this or say that it is BS.

Batgirl: My first recommendation would be to skip the turbo timer. Its expensive and as long as your aren’t doing a burnout out of your driveway. Or beating on your car up until you park it you should be fine. Instead of a turbo timer just use a good synthetic oil like amsoil or mobil 1.

As for gauges. I would recommend you get a way to datalog first. You will get much better results from a pocket logger than you will from trying to read an a/f gauge or an egt gauge. You’re a/f ratio can be fine and you could still be knocking and you could be ready to melt a piston and the egts might not show it. If I had to recommend gauges I would go with an oil pressure gauge and a boost gauge. Then just have the datalogger connected anytime you want to tune.

turbo timer: rollhard.com $81 for the greddy plus 20 for a year spacific harness

gauge pod: www.gaugepods.com best in the business 3pod 40 bucks. the fastest shipping out there got mine in 2 days

gauges: i like the vdo boost gauge $45 on most sites i got mine at extreme motorsports. autometer stuff has proven to be kinda inaccurate, but they work good for me. their fuel pressure and intake temp gauges are more accurate then their boost and EGT's the import gauges are WAY to expensive i wish i would pay 250+ for a gauge. but thats up to you :D

here is my old pod and gauges *stolen now* bastards:D
