hey guys, I did some searching and couldn't find what I was looking for, so here it is:

What is the max boost I can safely run with my setup, plus a denso 190lph pump?

My mods are in my profile, and I'm going to order the pump in the next couple of days. I know I will need 550's and an afc to make the best of my setup, but until I get the funds I'm going to have to live with this...
 
Without the injectors I would keep it around 15psi. Also i would not put the pump in the car until you have an AFC. Your going to make the car run really rich with no fuel control.
 
thanks larry, for some reason I thought you could put a 190 in without control, but that must have been a fuel pressure regulator, not an afc...

i'm not going to have an afc for a while, so with just a rewired pump how much boost could I safely run?
 
I ran a walbro 255 on my car with the stock T-25 @ 17 to 18 psi for about year with no problems whatsoever. I also ran 15 to 16 psi with just the walbro 255 and my Big28 before I installed my 550's. Every car is different though, so you will just have to see for yourself more than likely as to what your car can actually run.
 
yes, I do, but the turbo isn't installed yet... I'm looking for advice as in what to expect to run... I suppose I could just tune it until it gets too lean according to my egt.... sometimes I really don't think before I ask questions
 
I disagree with Larry on this one. When I installed my Walbro 255 I ran for a month with no S-AFC and had no problems. Even with my S-AFC I still have all the settings at 0 because I don't have a pocketlogger yet. I think with a 190 you'll be fine.
 
I would say you can run a 190 pump just fine on an otherwise stock fuel system. That is what I am doing and my plugs show no signs of lean or rich conditions. I am running 15-16 psi on the T2small. But with the T28 I would knock that down to 14psi if I was you.
 
Guys think of it this way. The car runs pig rich from the factory, by changing the fuel pump to a larger (flows more) fuel pump your going to make the air/fuel even richer. While this may not hurt anything your car is going to be slower and you will foul your plugs faster. If your car becomes to rich it wont even run.

Disagree with me all you want, if you want to run a larger fuel pump you should have some type of fuel controller first IMHO.

I forgot to mention that when I was running my walbro 255 with my stock T-25 @ 17 to 18 psi, I had no fuel management and the car ran just fine with no plug fouling at all. I was using the factory plugs also.
