well, i use my car alot for normal driving, so i dont want the added gas mileage loss attributed to high boost, but i want that added power when i need it. the dejon tool MBC that is switchable between stock and a set boost seems to be the way to go.

or would a dual switchable MBC be best? maybe lower than stock boost will get me the best gas mileage?

thanks guys

I have the Dejon Dual MBC on my 2G AWD. It's a nice part.

I have one setting for daily driving, and one set higher for
race gas, etc.

Its a blast to have the pedal to the metal at 13psi, then
flip the switch to 17psi. It feels like a mini-shot of
NAWZ, and impresses ignorant people like myself. ;)

Exactly.

That's the point of a 4cyl turbocharged engine. It only uses lots of fuel when it is going fast. The problem is, many of us have self-control issues, so having a low boost setting can be a good thing. ;)

V8s use a lot of gas just idling. At least with our cars, you have a choice.

yea, thats gonna happen!

i wanna take a look at those plans Talon.

so someone answer my question..
would it be better to get the "1 boost or stock boost" or the "2 boost"

Get the 2 boost. That way you can set them both yourself.

IMHO, that's worth the extra cash. I have mine set to 12psi for our crappy MBTE-infused knock-inducing street 93 octane, and 17psi when I've got a little VP C16 luvin' in the tank. Couldn't do that without the dual MBC.

Will, that is a really simple, effective, low cost idea. I like that sort of thing alot! :)

however, I have 2 questions. Well, maybe more like one question with 2 parts.

If the BCS is in the loop, won't the computer always open it anyways? And if we disconnect the thing from the computer, won't we get CEL's?? I have seen in several locations that say you need to leave the BCS attatched to the stock wiring.

oh, another question. Where is a good, easy,no problems place to run the wires thru the firewall to the dash area. I have no A/C, so I figured I'd put the push button switch in that spot, even using a factory A/C switch from a wrecker, thereby keeping the "stealthy" appearance :)

thanx again.

I also have a few questions. Since there will be 2 new T to connect to and 2 hoses coming for the bcs which hose goes where? Also to get the power and ground wire from the bcs can i just tap through them that way the wires arent disconnected from the car and trigger a cel, or will that just cause the low boost setting to be on all the time? Also what kind of switch can i use? By the way this is an awesome idea.

T the "from turbo" line into the "from turbo" line, and same with the"wastegate" one. Any 12v switch would work, it can't be a really high amperage device, the stock wires are pretty thin.

but the question still remains, is it ok to disconnect the BCS?

I was thinking of an even easier way to do it.

connect the hoses the same way, but just put a switch in one of the factory BCS wires, and run it to the dash. This way, the computer is still in the loop when that circuit is complete, using stock boost levels. Switch the other way, and the BCS is closed allowing us to use our MBC and higher boost.

FWD cars could set this up with a switch on the shift linkage that allows only stock boost in 1st gear to avoid wheel spin.

what say you??
