I just burned the hell out of my stock clutch and I bought a act 2100 and I have everthing off and the preasure plate and clutch have been mounted but despite all my atempts I cant get the trans back in and yes I remove the cLOLant hose an the sway bar mounts and this funny little plastic bracket and yes the clutch is aligned right but its so tight I cant get a strait shot at it any ideas or coments and I have a 92 talon awd tsi

A few suggestions from experience...

1. Make sure the slave cylinder isant still on the tranny, take it off, then put the tranny back on, then bolt the slave back up

2. If your by yourself, jack the car up, put a spare rim under the car, set the tranny on it, and lower the car down. This way you wont have to pick the tranny up that high.

3. Make sure the tranny is in neutral, both shifter in the middle, and put a lil bit of grease on the input shaft to help it slide in.

VFAQ.com has some great tips. Here's some trouble spots I had with my 92 AWD. Raising the tranny into position works better if the back end is tilted down a few inches. Then once the bell housing is high enough, tilt it level. Sometimes the splines on the clutch don't quite line up with the splines on the trans. You will have to rotate the trans while pushing it on. It's also inportant that the trans is aligned very well, it can't be tilted or twisted at all or else it won't slide all the way on. Look at the clearances between the block and the tranny to see if it lines up right.
