what is your opinion? which cams do you prefer?
i want to go with hks 263 and 272 cams, but i hear good things about web (except for their idle) and there are some other companies that have cams as well. so whats your preference?

There also atleast 2 huge cam threads on this site. I suggest searching for them.

But to summarize.

99% of the people like the HKS in either:

264/264
264/272
272/272

Combos.

well i know im gona go with the HKS 264/264 cams.. i was thinking about 264/272 but.. i just hate ruff idel and since it's gona be a daily driver.. gota go with them.. :)

Has anyone looked into the Crower cams? Just curious.

I drove in 1G with stage 2 crower cams and I liked it. Idle wasn't rough at all but it sounded "cool". That car also had stock turbo, from my first impression I would get those if you want, make sure you take your time to degree in your cams.

NABR did a test of all the different cams, if I remember correctly the HKS had the best bang for the buck on the dyno, with the webcams coming in last. I've got 264 Webcams in my car, and am not very impressed. I had to send the first set back due to the wear issue they had a while ago. I've heard alot of good things about the crower cams, but haven't seen any actual numbers on them. I know a guy with a set of Mutiny cams, those are awesome, but OOP.

so we will see what happend, jajjajaja

does anyone know what the horsepower gain with the HKS cams is? Just curious? i have a 1st gen.

If you have a BIG turbo on a 1G head and swap cams with proper tuning and fuel adding, you can see 40 WHP with cams, but that is best case scenerio.

Another good reason to swap out cams is it will cool thigs down a little and make tuning so much easier due to lack of knock and I have seen cars who have BAD knock issues lose it all with head and cam works.
