I just installed my Walbro 255 pump. Now it takes 2-3 tries to start the car @ ~5sec each try. If I leave it the way it is my starter is going to have a short life, but it works. Does anyone else have this problem, or have any ideas?

either 1. the rubber o ring that goes into the fuel line fitting is torn, twisted, or crimped.

or 2. you don't have the fuel pump inserted into the fuel line the whole way. you got to put some back into it.

had this same problem, along with a ton of other people. sorry man, but you are going to have to rip it out, fix the rubber o ring & try again. what is happening is the fuel line is losing all of it's pressure & bleeding fuel back into the tank (due to the pump not in the whole way, or something wrong with the o ring that seals it). if you need a new o ring, there are part numbers for it under the install directions on clubdsm.

hope i could help. peace

what if I wired a switch up to it and let it run for ~3sec before I start the car?
I'm trying to aviod removing it again. It's been to days and my car still smells like gas:)

I know what I'll be doing this Sat. I hope my 660's get here by then, then I can kill 2 birds at once:>

P.S. How do I get the screw out of the "L" bracket? I tried pliers and any other tool I could think of all with no luck.
