I have just installed the turboxs mbc. For some stupid reason thats probably my fault it is running around 25-30 pounds no matter how i set it. Did i run the lines right? What allen wrench hole do i use to adjust the boost? Any help would be greatly appreciated before i blow up my crappy stock turbo.

i forgot to mention that sometimes it will hold at about 12psi but then as soon as i hit 3rd it goes up to 30 again. This is only sometimes.

is that an arrow I see on there pointing the other way for the airflow? make sure it is actually hooked up to the wastegate actuator and your arm is not stuck. Also try just using the turbo oulet nipple as opposed to the bov line.

OK, did you remember that that turbo xs mbc is backwards from every other mbc in the world? I have a the high po version, and it did the same thing. switch the lines.

hi,
yes i switched the lines last night and still hitting boost around 25. i also have the high performance version. i even screwed the bolts all the way to the left to try and make it as low as possible but still didnt work. do you think i should try and run my line to the turbo nipple instead of the bov. i dont understand why this would make much of a difference though. any ideas will be greatly appreciated. my car is running like crap.

Okay, so by that picture and diagram, you guys are saying that the brass fitting with the itty bitty hole goes to the bov and the bottom fitting with the bigger hole goes to the wastegate?!?!? Am I following this correctly? Thanks.

Yes. The arrow denotes airflow direction, so in this case, the brass nipple connects to your boost source, which should NEVER be the BOV-IM line. The blue nipple should connect to the wastegate actuator.

The adjustment knob inside the brass section is the coarse (ball and spring) adjustment: 2-3 psi of boost increase per COUNTER-CLOCKWISE revolution. The adjustment knob in the blue section with the rubber o-rings is the fine (bleeder) adjustment: 1-2 psi of boost increase per COUNTER-CLOCKWISE revolution.

The line that's currently hooked up to the wastegate is exactly that. Bov-im setup. It's an Evo16g and the J-pipe doesn't have a nipple to go off of. Any ideas for another source? Thanks.

Yes. Drill J-pipe. Tap J-pipe. Install a threaded nipple fitting into hole. Done.

As it has been stated before you will get waaay better results by running off the j-pipe. Also the arrow on the body of it does denote the airflow.
Did you follow the proper set-up procedure on how to set it up??? You can't just start turning the screws and think it will work, You can't have the fine adjustment screw out more then 3-4 turns max. Take the boost controller out and turn the fine adjustment screw out until you hear the ball rattle inside, tighten it up just till it stops then turn 3 more turns, leave that alone and now control your boost with the coarse adjustment.
I have one of these and they are real tricky to set-up but work great once set-up.
