What else do I need to get into the 12's?

My friend has a nissan 2.0 engine that he is fixing up. t3/t04 turbo tubular manifold.. and all these Jim Wolftech goodies. He's claiming 13's. I WANT TO BEAT HIM!!
So far I am maintenancing my car before I get any further. New belts, plugs, adjust timing/compression etc. This is what I have in the engine: Injen intake, Small 16g Ported and clipped, Greddy piping with Type S BOV, Archer racing Custom FMIC, Magnecore wires, NGK BPR7ES plugs, 2.5" test pipe, 3in back from there to a Apex Dunk Exhaust. ACT 2100, XS MBC, autometer boost and air/fuel gauges.
Where do I go next from here to beat this rice burner??:thumb:

Get a datalogger and some sort of fuel control, a fuel pump and injectors and you should be all set for mid to high 12's with decent driving and tuning

ya need 660's to go 12's ?? Crap!! :( I was hoping to be able to get close to it with 450s, and be well and truly in there(like 12.3 or so) with 550s. Dang. Oh well...

yea mike, i have AWD. What about cams? I see people running 12's with hks or web cams.. how important are those? Also, so dumb ricer that drives a dsm said i cannot hit 12's on a small 16g.

you do not need aftermarket cams to hit 12's. and smack that dumb ricer. my trap speeds are well into the 12's with moderate mods and i think i will be trapping for 11's soon on the small 16g. im not that great of a driver though, so thats a different story.

13.050 @ 109mph on the small 16G and mostly stock fuel system.

introduce said dumb ricer to Mr Mike Huml over at SlowBoy Racing. He will set him straight. Mike thinks the small16g is one of the best turbos on the planet.

Hell, there are people in the 12's on the stock 14b, a 16g would just be icing...

Yea I can't wait to put my 660's in and go 12's. (see sig) :D

Regarding this thread...I'm telling you right now, if he is putting the 50lb injectors, 4bar fuel pressure, cobra MAF along with that T3/T4 he is SANDBAGGIN you BIG TIME talking about 13's.

The SE-R's will trap about 109mph with the STOCK GTiR T28 turbo set up just bolted on. If he puts slicks on the car you have your hands full.

If he is doing the fuel to support that T3/T4...Um, you are going to need a lot more than a 16G to keep up.

My SE-R with a STONE stock longblock and the mentioned parts above made 409whp and the car went 11.5@125mph on tiny 8" slicks doing a 1000' burnout.

Don't sleep on the SE-R when you slap some boost on it. :)

Very true......but that also depends on what his goal is.....Like me for example, I only want mid 12s, low on a perfect day.....my 550s and b16g can handle that with no prob.....

But overall. its the skill of the driver, and tuning. Going to the right place, you can get the tuning down to a T, leaving just the skill to work on ;) Goodluck!

So what would be good 550's or 660's. I just want to be a 12 sec daily/streetable car. I want to keep the small 16g. It looks like tuning is the way to go.. but dayum even with the stuff i do have, it looks like its gonna be another $1,000+ (bigger injectors, fuel pump, datalogger/dsmlink) to get to the 12s.

Driver skill?? how much does that cost.. where do you buy it??? LOL luanching is the main thing i am working on with the AWD. If I can bring my 4x4 turbo tacoma into the 14's im sure i can get this talon into the 12's skillwise. :)

You can get into the 12's with the 550s on pump gas, but I would say get 660's, if you are gonna get DSMlink then you can completely control the 660's to run like 550's if you want, but then can throw in some race gas, turn up the boost, and dump for fuel in because you have 660's..

so im looking to get a 255 fuel pump like the ones on ebay. with some 550cc's what kind of boost levels can i be at? also with the setup i have now, whats a safe boost level on pump gas?
