20g hybrid or TD06 20G

Hey Guys,

I need a little insight on the 20g (AGP, SBR, ST BLACK) combinations that are springing up all over the place. I need a turbo that I can GROW into. I have finally gotten my supporting mods completed and need to know what would be the best bet. I am not a boost nut so I can keep things respectable till the replace the gaskets and bolts. Then unleash your guidance would be much appreciated.

Taken this from a friend.. you should just go with a 20g with a tdo5.. Will basically give you the same power but will also spool pretty quickly. IMO thats what i would go with.

Why are so many vendors advocating the garret center section? I was leaning toward this for purpose of durability. Is this true or just hype? Any comments? BTW I love the tempe area! My job sent me there for 3 day seminar. It turely rocks out there!

I think its cause the thrust bearing are stronger. This helps to prevent the turbo from getting shaft play.
Any other reasons?

Either turbo will work. You can grow into any turbo. Hell, any 20G or any hybrid will probably be capable of more horsepower than most people will be able to get out of them anyway. If by "growing into it", you mean 400+ hp, then you can grow into most any hybrid or 20G. Everyone here will have their own preference on which one they'd use, but bottomline, that's all it is, personal *when tuned correctly*. Knowing how to tune will ensure that you get power out of any turbo you choose.

I want to say thanks for the insight. I am going to go with the TD05 hybrid. All in all, it will meet my needs (not to mention the garret characterics).
