Is this safe w/ T-25 and Pump Rewire??

So i have all intercooler piping, twice as big sidemount, type-s bov, air filter. Nothing on my exhaust is touched.

Last night i just installed my cobalt blue boost guage, and in all gears above 2nd my boost spikes up to 20 and then falls down to 16-17 depending on gear and then drops off after 5500 rpm or so.

I have no boost controller, i didnt remove the BCS restrictor, so i should be at 15 psi. But w/ my mods i know this isnt possible

MY QUESTION IS, is it safe to be spiking to 19-20, then going down to 16-17 psi with the stock fuel pump rewired. I use 93 octane no matter what.

No, it's not.

The question isn't the fuel system or all that, it's just that the turbo can't take all that spiking.

I could really care less about that peice of a turbo, i just want to make sure im not running way too lean and possibly blow up my motor.

Thats what im worried about, Im gonna have a new turbo in a month or 2

I ran mine at 19 psi consistantly with a rewired fuel pump. The turbo did not die, the motor did not blow up.

When I installed my boost gauge and only had my Greddy Type-S, I had boost spikes of 19psi, but fell back to 12-13. Soften your BOV with the screw and see if your spike problems are fixed or lessened. Also think about getting a MBC... I'm willing to bet even though you have a bigger sidemount, the larger IC piping is cranking your boost.

OK, somthing very weird.

I have a January 1995 talon, some of the early talons are a little different.

Well, i rewired my fuel pump, and was going to pull out the BCS restrictor and there wasnt one there, the opening was a little larger than any other dsm i have seen.

Im guessing this is why i have been boosting around 17psi, and i have allways been faster than other 2g's when i didnt have any mods, and neither did they.

so yeah, kinda off topic but oh well.

WEIRD

I have a 1/95 talon also, and have noticed the same thing.... I have always been boosting around 16.5 to 17psi. must just be that odd early 95 occurence... LOL

FYI, I ran 16 PSI on my T-25 without any fuel modifications. It would spike to 21 PSI on a regular basis. It scared the crap out of me the first time I saw it. I had a 1G BOV, intake and test pipe at the time. No boost control other than removed BCS restrictor. I pulled my plugs after running like this for about four months. Perfect. No detonation at all. Your turbo WILL die an early death, though, which is why I have a 14b now. :D BTW, getting an Extreme Motorsports XBC, and bypassing your BCS solenoid will fix this problem.

Matt.
