So today I am installing my cyclone intake manifold that I have had on my shelf for 4months. I have been researching this for a long time and seems this is debated a lot. I read the good the bad and the ugly. It seems that if tuned properly It really does help with torque. But if not they you will lose power due to the smaller size of the ports. So here I go. Does anyone have any real world experience where after tuned properly they were really glad they did this. My car runs great as is. I have an evo 8 ecu and the car is butter smooth. so post up your thoughts and experience from your car, your friends car whom ever it is. I just hope I am giving up my top end power for a good reason. Oh btw I have a mostly stock internal 6bolt with 950 FIC injectors, translator w/3"GM MAS, NT throttle body, punishment racing FMIC, and ram horn exhaust manifold, stock fuel rail, Flow throw fuel filter w/gauge, and an automatic. I typically see 18 lbs of boost by 3k. Due to my automatic tranny I get no boost drop during shifts!!

I was very happy with the cyclone when I ran it.
No dyno #s but definitely an substantial increase in power in the low/mid area without giving up much if anything on the top over a 1g intake.
FYI, i used a WGA to operate it.

I had one on my 90 gst with a small 16g and t definitely gave me more midrange torque. As for topend, no noticeable difference there. I would do it again on a 6 bolt. I have a 2g now.

Just would like to add that taking off this intake manifold is a pain in the-ass. The bolts on the bottom, the one above the starter and the two to the left, yeah pain in the ass doing it alone. errr. Reminds me of changing the fuel injectors on the Sti. They have crash brackets that keep the injector from being broken off in a crash, Yeah those are a PITA also. Horizontally apposed motors. fun times.

I have one that I modified to be PSI activated. I installed a t25 actuator which starts to open at ~12psi and fully at ~18psi. I absolutely love it. Not only does it feel much better, but the proof was in my dyno sheet. I put down 565awhp with 524lb/ft. That is nearly 100 more lb/ft that any other 2.0L in my hp level. I have a 16g powered 1G that I plan on installing one on as well.
