im very interested in running a COP on my 91. im looking at the basic kit from SparkTech that STM sells. my question is with this kit am i gonna need an ignition amplifier like an MSD or HKS unit to power it correctly? i know some of the other COPs require that.

gonna be using dsmlink for tunning.

To use it correctly, yes. Do you NEED it, not exactly but it's not going to work properly without the ignition box.

Here are no true hp gains by going COP. The only true benefit is a striver spark with an ignition box and a cleaner look. The stock ignition has proven itself time and time and time again. Do some research on COP setups and you'll understand it better.
