All I can say is that when I had my 20g setup on my car I had an HKS standard WG set at 20psi all the time. I had no problem's running 20psi on pump all the time. Boost would come on real fast and hold rock solid. I say it all depend's on you, if you want to play it safe with boost just get a 1 bar spring(14.7 psi) and you will be set. So you can have it as low as 14.7 but turn it up when you want to. I never saw a need to do this because my 1gen is not a daily driver so running 20psi all the time was fine with me. Hope I helped.
