iv been thinking of going with a side mount exhaust, 3~3.5". would like to hear if it would hurt the engine since it might not be long enough for back pressure. i also know it is going to be really loud.

back pressure is not going to be a problem. The more free flowing you exhaust is the better. The noise is going to be pretty crazy, i hope you like a loud exhaust tone.
haha wont bother me. im going to look into it more, research how much. i know its going to be custom made. wonder if there is a way i can quickly swap from side mount to my exhaust i have now. anyway i want the exhaust to come out on the driver side infront of the tire.

Side-exit on a stock 2G? Are you serious?
no, this is for in the future, when i get a bigger turbo and such. maybe in a year+. i just like to plan ahead so i wont run into bumps. on a stock turbo it would be kinda hard to do.

you can get an electronic cut out. You have a valve wired to a switch so when you press it the exhaust is diverted to another pipe, usually that exists towardds the front of the car.

I was going to actually do this Next year in February:cool:
i was going to do the dodge viper mount like along the side skirt, and stops before the rear tire. And yes dual piping. Always wanted to do it just never had enuff power to do it:sneaky:. But if you wanna do it i say more power to you, i think side mount exhaust is just freaking sick on just about any car:D

+1 on this, just get a exhaust cut-out and have your regular exhaust as well. Sleeper status ;) kind-of

That sounds like the lamest thing ever, this isn't the F&F. Why would you add the extra weight when it isn't needed just for looks.. :toobad:

LOL! ^x2! You sure your ready for how loud it's gonna be also? I have a full straight pipe no muffler resonator or cat and people hear me from a mile away even when I'm slowing down in vacuum LOL!

If you really want the sound of open exhaust when you're laying into it - just get an atmospheric dumped O2 housing and run it out the bumper.

Fun and loud on the 14b but it got annoying fast when it opens up at 10psi and I can't rush anywhere inconspicuously.

im not getting a side exhaust for the sound of it. i want to get it for the looks and also its something different. not alot of people have side exhaust. also with the O2 housing, i was watching a video on youtube and was reading some of the comments. some were saying that it is bad, dont know 100%. also what does a dumped O2 housing do?

Here is a vid of my car running open downpipe, it is STUPID loud. A o2 dump is when the wastegate is dumped to the atmosphere instead of back into your exhaust, it is also very loud but nothing like a open downpipe.

Oh for sure, it's not done yet. I'm still deciding on wether to step it up to a 4 inch tip or leave it 3 inch? Then i'm going to rivet a piece of aluminum or stainless around it for the "aggressive" look.:p
just go the full 100 yards and get a 6" LOL

Well how beneficial do you really think it is going to be at 4"? I think it already looks good, adding the aluminum will top it off nicely as well. Take a vid of that beast so we can hear it! :hellyeah:

i figure it isn't ganna add nomore than 15lbs more which isnt much, so i'm not really worried about weight that much, i just want a cool look now, and that's one of the thing's i think would complete it. i've seen alot of dsm'z with the exhaust out the front side. Don't want the same thing, Just tryna be different that's all
