Having a problem with the safc. Problem is that I'll be driving and then out of nowhere the screen goes blank. The lights for the cursors and "next/prev" are still lit so I have reason to think that the afc is still function, just no display. I can push the left button and the display will light up then release the pressure on the button and it goes out again. I talked to a friend they said check the cord on the back of the afc and see if it is tight. I was simply inquireing to see if anyone else has had this problem and as to what it was a cause from. Thanks for any help.

sorry to bring this way back from the dead but i'm having the same problem on 2 different afc's. one seems to be intermittent; randomly doing this about once every 3 months, and the other seems to be permanently like this. any help is appreciated.

I'd check your ground connection. There should be 2 different ground wires coming out of the s-afc one of them might be lose. Especially if the cursor is lit up but not the screen. Check those, resolder them if necessary.
