Ok im missing a bolt on my exhaust manifold, as you can see in the picture i will link to at the bottom of this post. It is one of the four bolts the top left bolt is missing. My question is what would this cause? Can exhaust leak trough that hole? And does anyone know what the thread pattern is so i can buy a replacement. The reason i ask is my car is driveing odd. When you get to around 3k it viberates and is loud as hell. So if you could tell me what would missing that bolt cause that would help me out a lot.

thanks in advanced

opps almost forgot the link.

just get an ex mani to turbo bolt from the dealer and yes that is prob why it is loud because it is leaking.

that bolt was actually a stud, but most switch it to a bolt when they do a turbo swap. it shouldn't be too hard to put in.

Yeah, buy a bolt ASAP. The more bolts you are missing, the more vibration the exhaust will experience and you run a greater risk of cracking something. Not only that, but the more vibration you get, the faster you will wear out the gasket.

I'm missing literally half of the bolts on my orig. manifold and it left a huge crack in it and destroyed the internals of my flex section. Fortunately, the new 2g manifold and O2 housing along with a turbo-back go on this Saturday.

Check with a coathanger or something that they didn't just break the stud off when they were removing it. It can be a ##### to get out.

Second on getting the bolt from the dealer; don't use anything other than the correct bolt for all the obvious reasons. Also make sure you put *high*temperature* anti-seize on it (1600+ stuff) before you install.

Torque to spec (44ft/lb), then start and run 'till warm, then re-torque to 50ft/lb. Otherwise it'll just vibrate out. There's a reasonable chance that the other bolts are loose as well, which would controbute to your noise problem.
