Hi,
I hope someone can help me. Here is the deal. I have a 93' Eagle Talon FWD. I am replacing everythign since the motor blew, except I am keeping the transmission. I have bought a 6-bolt block, and 2G heads that have been ported/polished, the runners hogged out, etc... I have a stock turbo off a GST, along with a polished intercooler off a 92' Eclipse. I need to know what modifications are going to be needed, such as ECU wise and sensor wise. I am not a electronical genious when it comes to sensors and such but can do it, I just need someones help and guidance in explaining what is needed to be done. I also want to know what is needed to be done to use the existing 1G Throttle Body since it has a bigger diameter than what is on a 2G head. Also anyone that knows of a timing difference on a 2G head with 1G distributor would be helpful. Anyones help from whom have done this swap or now of websites that talk about it would be greatly appreciated. Cody Morris.

I will tell you one place you will have a problem is the head studs/bolts. 6-bolt blocks use 12mm hardware to bolt the head to the block. 2G's use 11mm hardware. Unless you bore out the bolt/stud passages, it will never fit.

MAN. Will the block bolt up to that tranny, wait it had a 4g63 in it. Damn I dumb! Anyway, Harness has to go, I think you have to match the head w/ the block, and ECU. What year is the head?

So I assume I can take my heads and block to a machine/head shop and have them bore/fit the heads to the block, correct? As for re-wiring, does that mean every wire under the dash is replaced. ECU replacement, is it as simple as just taking out and putting a new one in? And what kind of ECU should I look for. A 1G one or a 2G one, because I have a wide variety or 1G and 2G parts. Thank you!

Is this false info? I thought you could use a 2g ecu if you had a 6bolt shortblock and heads just wiring etc needs to be done.

yea but I think he's going from a non turbo to turbo??? This post is confusing .. all I know is we only need 1 head not 2 :shhh: .
