ok I have brand new ngk's in my laser rs-t, and magnecore 8.5's as well. For a while it seemed like my car was not boosting and I didn't even hear the turbo at all. It turns out my wastegate was busted, so I replaced it and as soon as I go to boost it at around 4K the car jerks and does want to go anymore like their is something wrong with the fuel system. Can someone help me with this? Thanks

No I don't believe it's the BoV. When you stomp on the gas the whole car bucks and will not accelerate. It acts like it's starving for gas or something to that effect. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks

Check your gaps on the sparkplugs, same thing was happening to me a while back. I think its suppose to be .028"

the car idles great, it's just when you get on it at 4k it bucks tremendously and quits accelerating

does it backfire and feel like it hit a brick wall? Do you have anyway of measureing knock, 02 voltage or timing? What boost level/ambient temps/turbo/fuel setup/ et cetera

Yeah something like that. It is running on the stock turbo on stock boost on the stock fuel setup.

Well I know it's not the wastegate anymore because I replaced the one that was broken with a good one off my friends car that was fine. The fuel filter is only 6 months old and I running the car off the downpipe so I have no cat.

if you mean vacuum leaks I have checked and there doesn't appear to be any. Could it possibly be a problem with the mass air? I am running open K&n with the lower honeycomb removed.

have you checked for leaks at say 20psi on the positive side? you are more likely to leak under pressure than vaccuum due to the ic pipes and clamps expanding.

yeah you're probably right because I am running an aftermarket upper and lower intercooler pipe setup. I know the upper is fine because I checked the clamps and made sure they were tight, but I didn't get underneath the car to check the bottom (dark outside). I'll check that out though.

build a leak tester and pressurize the system. if you are leaking quite a bit, then the ecu will see mad amounts of air going to the engine and shut the fun down (it will think the injectors are maxed)

well I noticed this today. When I just press down on the gas about half way the boost goes all the way to 14 on the innacurate factory boost gauge. I think I should hook up my autometer again to see what kind of boost. Maybe it's overboosting somehow? Maybe the bcs is not working properly? Just shooting some things out there. And by the way, the lower ic pipe was on tight as well.

if you are leaking out a lot of air, the factory guage will peg quite easily (as the 'boost' is shows is a calculated value based on the amount of air going past the mas) I still think this is your prob. Hook up the autometer then do this: http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

Yes, build the pressure tested. It will be the best thing you can get. Thanks to that inexpensive little tool, I found out that my factory UICP was to the point where it would expand so much under boost that the pipe would leak pressure like water from a hose.

A boost leak causes the very symptoms that you are talking about. Try the tester, you will more than likely fix your problem.

Guess what guys, I've found out what the problem is. The coilpack is no good. I was told it was a $400 part. I'm just gonna sell the car now. First $700 takes it.

get a used coil pack or get pricing for yourself. everyone knows repair shops mark up parts sometimes500%. I can get you a used one for like $20.00-$40.00 bucks. also test the coil pack yourself. so you know your not getting screwed. I could fix your car in minutes, and I haven't even looked at it. you can get the spark tester for $11.00 @ NAPA. THE SPARK SHOULD JUMP A 3/8 inch gap on the tester. check all four posts and then make your decision about selling a perfectly good turbo charged car. I bought my 91' TSI AWD for $1100.00 and put $4000.00 in parts into. It runs and drives like new now. And by the way you took out the wrong honeycomb. It's the top one and also take out that paper star, cut the can open so it is still shielded in the back to keep some of the heat away. good luck

wow, I heard they cost a lot more than that. If I could get a hold of one for that price, then I could get more money for it or keep it. Thanks
