Secondary Fan Required?

Alright the intercooler i have nowhas inlets and outlets on the passenger side. therefore, the j-pipe i just put on for the new 14b has to run that way. I also hasd to put a new radiator in from punishment, thanks to a racoon. Anyways, the secondary fan (on the passenger side) won't clear the new j pipe. Does anyone know if i will be ok running the primary fan only? I dont want to risk it at all, but after tommorow the person's car I'm using gets back so i need mine back on the road. If anyone has any experience with this, please jump in.

I only have one fan on mine (Passenger side) And never had a problem. Although I can not tell you which thermostat is in it, I'd say it's stock though. Just drive it and watch your heat gauge.

Well on hot days I can't pull enough air without two fans running if I have my a/c going. I have an fmic though so without perhaps one fan is sufficient. Mitsu put two there though so I doubt it is in all conditions.

If you can't fit a stock fan there, you can get a slim aftermarket fan for that position. If you can't even fit a slim fan there (I'm sure you can) you can go with a 10" pusher fan on the front of the a/c condensor.

I also have a large FMIC, and drove it in pretty hot conditions.....Our Summer was pretty cool, but I'd say 85º give or take. However, I never just "sat" in a traffic jam.....But my gauge never even approched half-way.....

Ok I will probably just watch the temp guage and see what happens. I would eventually like to get a pair of slims for her, but between college and mr. racoon making me get a new radiator, it will have to wait for spring.

i ran into the same problem but a fan was hitting my wastegate. i didn't want to run one of the fans that came with the punishment kit(one is not enough from their kit) i purchased this and put it in the center and it works flawlessly.

Edit, I have no problems with large FMIC, and not to mention my car is BLACK!

Like you said: (OP) watch your Temp. gauge, it's your friend, and so is your SEL.
