FMIC Pipe Size

I have a big FMIC for my 1G Laser. The pipes on this thing are 3" in and out. The only thing that I am wondeing is would it be benefitial for me to use this size piping or should I step it down to like 2 1/4" piping? What would be the benefit/downfall os using either one of the sizes of piping?

It depends on the amount of air you're going to be moving. With a 20G and below IMO 3" is WAY to big. You'll get pressure drop like a biatch not to mention a ton of lag as your turbo will need to pressurize all that volume inside your piping before it gets to your engine. Try to step it down to 2.5" if you have a medium range turbo (18g/20g/green) or 2.25 if you have a Big16g/16g/14b (You really shouldn't be FMICing your 14b gas unless you're trying to squeeze out 12's). 550cc Injectors
S-AFC
MBC
Full 3" Turbo-Back
Intake
2G TB Elbow
Poly Motor Mounts
Balance Shaft Removed
Pocketlogger
Boost, A/F, EGT Gauges
Stevetek Fuel System
Sumped Tank
Accell High Pressure In-Line Pump
Pressure Regulator

Now do you think that this setup would still be wise to use 2 1/4" pipes. That was what I was going to use to build this up considering the ease to work with this size of pipe vs. 3".

With this setup I am hoping for some 12 sec passes this summer.
