ok WHEN i get my TSi(haven't found one yet) these are the mods i would like to do to it (for starters)....now how much doy uo THINK i could achive in the 1/4....also hp estimates IF possible

i've heard that getting a clipped 16g isn't the best idea, but porting :thumb:
are you getting the supra pump? just curious... i'm planning on that as well
consider the rnr 3" turbo-back system, i got mine (all ss) for 935 shipped
you may want to get 660 injectors, they allow you to take full advantage of your 16g ;)
maybe you should consider an internally gated turbo? save a little $. shop around, you should find an afc for less than 300

1g or 2g? 1g needs better pistons, 2g needs better rods and an install kit for the 16g. 1g needs a better exh mani, 2g should have a better head.
i think i've picked out all the stuff i can think of, analyzing is so much fun! if any more experienced (or wisemen) have any other ideas about what he should change or consider, i'm sure those ideas would be appreciated (i hope he doesn' take my words for the best available :laugh: )

Im sure you know that if you shop around you will find better prices on all of that stuff. Dont know why youd want an external gate with a 16g unless yoru car is already setup like that or something. 1G's dotn need pistons and 2G's dont need rods... 1G's intake and head ports/cams are all bettr than the 2G with the only crappy factor being the exhaust manifold cracks a bit so most go with a ported 2g.

That was basically my first setup and I loved it. I had a Big16g, 550/afc/255lph, 3" turbo back, act2600, dejon tool w/k&n, mbc, IRC streetcore and went 12.4@110 mph for basically 2800$ in mods:D

16g's are awesome turbo's and i think that everyone shoudl have that as their first:cool:

yes its a 1g...thnx for the info and i will change it to Internal wastegate and 660cc injectors
 
I havent ever seen a 16g that doesnt come without the internal gate already. You can usually find em for around 600$ new which obviously includes the internal gate. 550's are definetly enough for a 16g, some use 550's for 20g's. Some poeple say that they aren't but they just either have something wrong or dont know how to tune....

i don't think 0-60 would really be noticeable, you'll be too busy watching the road and your tach... as far as 1/4, going by what i've seen other people with similar setups... i'm guessing 12's, i could be wrong
 
Check out roadraceengineering for prices. Alot of thier prices are WAY lower than what you listed.
 
Well as I said in my last post... Mine car wasnt even tuned to its full potential and I was runnin 12.4/12.5 @109-110 mph
 
LOL wathing the TACH......forgot to mention...its an AT...i know i know...but i HAVE to get auto(parents) so what am i in the high 12's mid 13's..???
 
ugg, auto?! it's not worth doing that much work to it... just find a 5spd and start modding it now, drive when you move out!
 
honestly i thin ki would like a auto better right now......so please don't tell me how BAD autos are and tell me what i would be in 1/4 mile wise
 
ok folks i will be getting a manual(talk about bringin an old post back to life)(but) what would i run with this setup AND MT?
 
Some type of air/fuel control is a MUST if you upgrade your injectors and pump. You can run a 190lph fuel pump without it, but if you upgrade the injectors, get fuel control at the same time.
 
ok but i need 1/4 mile times...IF i shift good..LOL and i jsut need a ROUGH estimate...like 14's 13's 10's :rolleyes:
