Ok, i just got my L2R but before I install it I had a couple of questions keep in mind I have a 2G.

1)Should I port my exhaust manifold?? If so, where is the cheapest
place I get this done and gaskets if needed.

2)My turbo is internally gated and I was wondering if I should upgrade
my 2.5" DP and go with a 3" or keep the 2.5" DP and get an
atmospheric dump o2 housing. After the DP I have a 3" Mid-pipe and
cat-back.

I thought I had more questions, but I cant remember them right now.

I have an L2R internal gaet also.

I have a EVO3 manifold and a 3inch o3 eliminator DP with an internal dump.

By not porting your manifold, your spool up time with slightly suffer since the stock opening is only 6cm vs I'm guessing 7cm housing on the l2r ..someone correct me if i'm wrong here. As for your 02, downipe, with an internally gated setup, I think the only issue you would have is boost creep with an internally gated setup and the ability to hold a given boost level. I think you can still get an 02 dump tube and have it mated to a 3" dp.

Your correct it is 7cm so you would want to have the sotck 2g manifold ported out to 7cm and the collector

So where can i get my manifold ported at a good price?? Also violator, were you suggesting an o2 dump with 3" downpipe. Would I still need a 3" DP if i go with an o2 dump?? By the way, I still have my stock o2 sensor its not ported or anything.

I guess my main questions were:
1) Should I get my manifold ported? That is already answered so its a "YES".

2)What exhaust option should I get??
a)Keep my 2.5" DP save money and get an o2 dump
b)Upgrade to 3" DP and port stock o2 sensor
c)Get 3" o2 Eliminator DP

To answer your second question

C-O2 eliminator DP-3inch

Just to clarify some stuff, since your new to DSM's, it's O2 Housing (which holds the Front O2 sensor). If you kept your 2.5 DP, then I would definately port your O2 housing. I don't think its necessary to get a dumptube, it helps, but I think the reason most get one is because of the sound it makes.

I would also recommned getting the 3" 02 elim downpipe. The turbo you have is pretty big and you would see a lot of improvements with a 3" 02 elim downpipe.

I would also suggest you get the internal dump because it will keep the car quieter for the street. You would see much improvemnts with the external dump.

We do have the 3" 02 elim downpipe for $330.

I have the RnR internal dump 3inch O2-elim DP and it fits perfectly with my L2R.

Woohoo, thanks guys. I got my manny ported but im going to stick with the stock o2 and 2.5" downpipe until i can save some money for the 3" o2 elim. I was just looking at your webiste RnR and put it in my favorites to look at later when I finally have the money. Thanks for all the info guys...

Oh violater, I meant to type o2 housing but my finders decided to type sensor instead. Hey, do you live close to Houston....Im gonna be up there for the supra meet in march.

"Internal wastegates that dump to the atmosphere on these big hybrids are supposed to cause boost creep issues"

 You obviously have no clue what you are talking about... you shouldn't post crap like this;)

You don't have to believe me. Call Robert @ FP and ask him nicely if he would please take the time to teach you something about the hows and whys boost creep is more likely to occur in this situation. He does an excellent job of explaining it.

Yeah, and my brother lives right off Westheimer :) Perhaps I'll see you around.

heck ya man...im going to be there. Maybe we should meet up somewhere. We are staying in the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites with all the other supra owners and stuff. Well thanks for all the help guys.

LOL JDM... its funny everytime we post next to oneanother:D
ANyhow I realize some poeple say that with a 3" + or dump or whatever you will cause boost creep, but trust me its a load of crap. Just because you can expell the wastegate gases quicker doesnt cause creep. What causes creep is the inefficiency of the wastegate/flapper to expel enough of the flow as to not cause back pressure, which cause excess/uncontrollable boost. May need an adjustment, porting larger flapper or whatever else, but all dumping is going to do is help get i out quicker and without mixing into the regular exhaust path. If you can prove me wrong feel free to do so. I hate when people say they talked to so and so, or heard this and use this as there excuse to not really understanding it. Why dont you tell "Robert" to post on the forum if I am wrong? Sometimes I don't explain sh!t to well on here, but I know how it works and I know that an internal o2 dump does nothing but good:thumb: (unless you dislike the noise...)
