People with FMIC, any drivability issues?

am thinking of getting a huge FMIC, my friend has a radiator manufacturing plant and he can make me a custom one to fit the blitz front, how big can I go without affecting throttle response, low rpm drivability, turbo lag? BTW i have an auto GST

Actually that is 4 feet:thumb:

Those measurements are a little off, it's more like 10965mm, that should give you more room to work with.

Are you going to make it out of parts to a radiator?

Yikes! that's big! most of the post i've seen are for the spearco ICs that measure 28"x10.5"x3.5" which seems pretty big already, oh this will go on with a stock turbo, I already have a 2.5" cat back exhaust in place and a crame cams ignition. I just want to find out if I'll have drivability issues like really slow response and all that.

Well prrincipal wise, a radiator is also a heat exchanger, its only thinner because fluid can transfer heat more efficiently than air and yeah the radiator guy will make it out of "radiator parts"

I am sure candela was joking on the size, I know I was. Your measurements are definatly better!

Also I am not to sure about making it out of a radiator. But I'll let someone else tell you why.

No, he won't be making out of a radiator per say, what I meant was that IC construction is very similar to radiator construction, its both made of tubes, whether flat or round for the air/fluid to pass through, and fins to dissipate the heat of the fluid. Of course air would need bigger passages thus the reason why intercoolers have huge crss sections, 3.5" compared to around an inch for radiators.

I guess you thought we're gonna cut up some junk radiator parts of a large truck and make it into a makeshift intercooler :D

He'll be making it from scratch in the factory. He's got the entire thing, machines that make the fins, custom jigs and tueb extruders.
