questions about 1g and 2 g blocks!

I just traded my friend a t-25 for his stock 1990 Eclipse GS NON turbo engine, I have the head and the block. I was wondering what would be the best path to take. I would like to know what it really takes to swap just the block and then the entire engine. I want to know what parts from my car will work with the swap will I have to buy new piston. Does the block have to be milled? I know that there are a lot of shops around that can do it but I would really like to do it myself, id do everything but the machine work. So please I need to know all the details it takes. Thanks a lot for any information that I might receive.

I "think" that the NT block does not have as many oil and coolant valleys and shouldnt be used in your case.

Twitch you should be able to swap this motor and treat it just like a 6bolt in a 2g install. The 1g non turbo motor is not ideal but it does work. The CR is around 9:5:1 and there is no oil squirters and Im not positive if there is a knock sensor but... You can make it work although there is a fantastic chance you will blow something like the headgasket or something if you don’t get your tuning straight right away.

head is the same, but the cams are different

The block is the same between turbo and non-turbo 6-bolts. You don't "need" the oil squirters, I know of several high-hp applications that don't use them. The rods are the same, just have your stock 95 pistons mated to the 1g big rods at a machine shop, and have new bearings installed.

The turbo headgasket is the one you want, and you'll want to swap your cams from the 2g head in (and probably the lifters too). Everything else is the standard 6-bolt in a 2g swap.
