sorry guys. the title should read, "evo parts that are compatible with 1g 2g dsm's"

This thred is to compile all the evo parts that would be considered an upgrade to the
1g-2g dsm.
if you post here, please try to be specific on wich evo the part is from.
Try to keep it narrowed down to parts that are interchangable that need the least modification and next to no fabrication for instalation.
lets be descriptive as well.:thumb:

this is for the 2g. it upgrades all 4 brakes with evo8 brembo's.
i got this info from ( thorlief4g63). he did the swap.
for the front calipers to mount on, you need the 1999 jdm galant knuckles. the rears area direct replacement, but you do have to take off your stock rear dust covers for the evo rotors to fit.
Re: EVO8 Brakes on 2g GSX!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well lets see so far:

4 Brembo calipers from Ebay - $330 shipped (Guy had ten sets available didn't realize that $300 for all fours was a low price. I got lucky)
4 Slotted Rotors/4 sets of Pads from www.rotorpros.com- $325 shipped (Was sketchy about the cheap price but read MANY posts on evolutionm.net stating these rotors have held up to 30k-40k miles.)
4 corner stainless steel lines/brake fluid from GRUPPE-S - $109 shipped
2 Galant knuckles from mitsumissile on here with abs sensors - $515 shipped
Caliper pins and clips to hold in the brake pads that didn't come with the calipers from www.jnztuning.com - $61

I am figuring another $50 for miscellaneous items to complete the job.

evo 8 ex valves = filled = lighter and cooler runnning
evo 8 springs and retainers = behive spring design= less friction at cam with increased rpm capabilities
evo 8 followers = 2grams lighter than dsm = woo hoo !
evo 8 balance shafts = 1 lb lighter and clearance for 2.3 strokers
evo 8 pistons and rods = stronger, lighter, better cooling and 8.8 compression

I didn't see fuel pump mentioned so i'll throw it out there. Evo 8/9 fuel pumps are good and inexpensive upgrades to 1g/2g pumps. I'm not sure about the evo1-7 though?

We can use a JDM evo9 or any evoX map sensor for 3-bar map logging, direct bolt in for 2gs but you may have to tell your computer what it is seeing. No changes necessary for an evo8 ecu using non USDM roms.

Evo3 ALS system with an aftermarket EMS or evo8 ecu.

evoX turbos can be used with sufficient fabrication.

evo rims (some backspacing required).

That is all that I can think of for the second.

Has anyone tried the Evo FPR?
I'm almost certain that they are the same as a 2g FPR, the evos use a voltage change to manage fuel pressure without needing a stronger FPR.

Evo I-III manifold has been mentioned, but combine that with the Evo I-III 60mm throttle body which I believe is an upgrade for the DSMs too. Correct me if I'm wrong.

When you say Evos, probably best to specify which types. Probably pedantic but there were quite a few changes between the models over the years.
