I have been having a lot of trouble getting my boost to stay stable. I have a Hallmen ES and stock fuel system. I am getting a t28 very soon and don’t want to overboost on it at all. I was thinking is there a way to make base boost? Like 10 PSI. I was thinking could I take the mbc out and just put a tube from my boost source to the wastegate so that it would open asap would this work

Yeah, that would work. stock wastgate spring is rated to open at 10 psi. If you tap into the BOV line and connect that to the wastegate you get 10 psi. If you tap into the turbo outlet elbow you get less, maybe 8 or 9 psi.

I cant seem to get it stable! It does whatever it wants whenever it wants. I tried taking the MBC out and just running a solid line from my turbo nipple on the turbo to the wastegate, it still pushes 15-18 psi? Im not sure what else it could be. I thought it might be my MBC that was bad so I tried the above method with no help at all. I have a 3" turbo back exhaust with a VP o2 dump. please let me know asap what you guys might think it is. IM willing to try anything I have a new turbo going on within a couple of weeks and dont want to risk anything!

Thanks alot

if running the hose directly to the wg actuator doesn't give you stock boost, you have another issue than a boost controller. check your wastegate for movement. sounds like it may be stuck closed, or the hose you are running to the actuator has a tear in it and is leaking out all of the boost you are trying to apply to the actuator diaphragm.

we need to start a site "The cursed 2G's of KC". You and I can be the founding fathers!
Have you checked that line for leaks yet? If the wg were stuck totally closed, you would hit more like 22+. Try a new hose first.

can you move the wg with your hand (arm on)? take the arm off and move it a little as well, maybe oil it up a bit.
