Well okay its not new its actually a 1990 laser RS but please read this through. It and me are new to these forums and are glad to have found someplace on the web to get the information we need. I just picked up this laser the other day Cost $0 I saved it the day before it was to go to scrap, the guy i got it from had to get rid of it (parent pressure) had to drive about an hour just to look at it the tow costed me $150 CDN but the car was free. After getting it into the garage we found that the body was just absoulutely mint for any used car nevermind that it is 12 years old so now i have a completly perfect chassis to start a project with. The car is a non turbo FWD 2.0l now i realize that the AWD or even the FWD turbo are of course the best cars to get if i would like to get any real power but this car was free and it was all i could afford right now even all my upgrades must be done over a lenghtly time (Darn kids if only they would stop eating ) anyways here is what i am looking at doing and any comments or suggestions are welcome. Purchase a 4g63 non turbo (the motor in it is shot and i don't want to get into the NT to T swap it sounds like more than i want to undertake), take the motor to a performance shop and have it rebuilt with much stronger internals, install some serious N2o (anyone able to tell me the largest shot the stock internals can safely handle), install body kit, get really nice paint job. Of course theres probably lots of other things to do and ask about but as i said this is going to be a project over time and hopefully i'll get some more info later right now its just time to layout my plan of attack.

And oh yeah sorry about this long A$$ post but thanks for reading it

1990 Plymouth Laser RS $0

Look on my brothers face when I told him I got a FREE car $Priceless

Well, its really not all that hard to do if you yoru motor is shot. You can find a used JDM motor with a 16G and 510 injector's if you are lucky for around 1K-1250 or so. I dont know what your budget is. Thats not all that much if you ask me. I would never waste your time on a NT motor. If your lucky, you might break into the low 14's. They are just to heavy of a car. For the money you are going to throw into a bodykit, you could be using that to make a great turbo car with aftermarket goodies. :> Nitrous will cost you atleast 400-500 bucks and you have to keep filling it back up...plus the cost of the motor itself...so why not just put a turbo motor in to start with...check out www.roadraceengineering.com ..they have a link on there to some places where you can buy JDM motors. Hope that helps. A friend has a Laser and its a total sleeper...pulled an 3rd gen rx-7 last night on the highway ..

Good luck

Or, just totally fix it up, and sell it. Then put the money made into an awd turbo 5spd car.

But if it is a really nice car, adding the 4g63 turbo and all the stuff might be the way to go.

and I second not using an NT motor. Amost as expensive as going for the turbo route but alot slower/less fun.

If you really want it for the speed, drop a turbo motor in it. You're already going to do the hard part - pulling the motor. Might as well do the rest. If you simply want an all show, "not very slow" car, just fix up the n/t motor and do all the cosmetic mods you mentioned. Most everyone here will agree that the turbo motor should go in, and you should forget that bodykit. Usually only the n/t guys spend money on body kits on the 1G cars....

If I remember correctly, and I'm pretty sure I do. There is a company somewhere, could be on the internet, could be just from my vast aftermarket knowledge and influence.. (I've seen a lot of cool/strange ****) That there is actually a plug and play kit for the 1G 4G63s... Don't hold me to this, but from what I understand there is one, of course you have to do the normal stuff, like get a turbo, pistons, fuel, etc.. then again, the blocks are kinda different too, I believe.. Oh well, its worth taking a look into.
