I am going to swap my old lifters with new ones to try to get that annoying tick tick tick sound to go away, or at least get quiter. Is it as easy as the VFAQ makes it sound, or are there some other things I need to worry about? Is it easy to foul up? because I am a bonehead when it comes to these type of things. Any feedback is welcome.

And where can I get the lifters for a good price?

Thanks

This was one of the first things I did to my DSM.......and I didn't know ANYTHING about them back then. and it was that easy.... I hear there is a guy in TX somewhere that sells 'em really cheap. Check out this post..... Lifters

Peace,

J.

actually i just did this and it isn't hard at all bud. just make sure to put a paper towel or something in the oil well things on the head or u will bust the lifters off and they might fall down in there and they aren't all too easy too get out either LOL i know from experience. just follow the vfaq and u should be ok. the guy in texas is david mckinney and he is awesome his email [email protected] or you can call him to order the lifters at 1-888-855-9712. Total it was 126 for mine. good liuck man laterz, kevin.:)

thanks for the quick replies fellas. youve given me confidence that i can do this, even tho im still a bit sceptical. thanks a million

All u can do is try. Otherwise it's ff to SATAN or worse hill-billy mechanic who wont be kind enough to apply the KY :D

Besides, if anything goes wrong, just jump online for some free help. If I can learn to drill out and retap a stud on my head from the dsm community, a lifter replacement should be as easy as kicking some honda butt
