With the Lancer Evo coming to America the 4g63 will live on. (why did Mitsu put that stupid V6 in the eclipse). Do you guys consider the Evo to be a DSM. Also the Lancer is running a ton of boost, 19psi. I wonder how much you can turn up the boost before fuel cut. I can't wait to see Evo on the drag strip. What do you guys think.

This doesnt seem to fit the general tech aspect of this part of the site, but i say the EVO 8 will be a good seller till the WRX STi comes along and destroys it

4g63 yes it is. Would these cars be as popular as they are now without the 4g63T? I doubt it.....

In my opinion they are dsm's the galant vr4's werent made in normal ill they were imported. But since they have a 4g63 they are considered a dsm. the vr4's dont have a hump in the hood also if I remember correctly.

I think the 4g63 should live on...I wonder if this one will have any wierd unusual problems like 2g crankwalk. but I guess not since the ones that walked the most were 96-98 with 97 have the highest %...and these engines are made in japan. Wonder how cheap it is to get a JDM 4g63 with 0miles? but with the evo coming 4g63s will be more readily available like some rich dad will buy his kid one his kid will total the car but the engine will be fine and I'll buy my 4g63 with 1000 miles on it for only 1g.

even 2g's arent dsm's...

Wha???? Wow wonder what those DSM stickers on my driver's door and under the hood mean??

Peace

well you know what I mean... the plant in Normal stopped making our acrs in 94 which prolly means that some 95's were produced. but even then, tehre are still parts from 2g's that cam from the plant. Im just being technical, and that only 1G's were built at the plant which was the conjuned group of cars known as Diamond Star Motors

Curious... how come you're so sure the new STi will "destroy" the EVO? I believe they are very close performance wise, plus the STi has a brand new engine and we all know what happens when car companies introduce new designs.

You have a '95. 95's was the last dsm that had the dsm sticker.

Stickers under the hood are ghey  I got a 4g63 and thats all that matters. Who cares about what plant made what. My buddys 98 galant has DSM stickers. That floats his boat, He loves it.LOL

That's completely wrong. The Normal plant still exists and still pumps out Eclipses and Galants today. It also produces Sebring and Stratus Coupes and the new SUV the Endeavor that Mitsu is about to introduce. We just don't consider 3G's DSM's because they don't have the 4G63T. The reason the stickers disapeared around '95 and '96 was because Mitsu bought out Chrysler's interest in the plant around that time. But my '98 came from the same plant, but has no DSM sticker. Even though DCX has nearly 40% interest in Mitsu, Mitsu owns the plant completely and sells the Avenger/Stratus Coupe and Sebring Coupe (which are just 3G Eclipses really) to Chrysler. Still, old habits die hard. When I order cars the point of entry for Eclipses and Galants is still referred to as "DSM" by the internal system.
