Tonight my buddy Greg told me that after you do engine mods such as cams intake headers digital engine management's ect, you have to take your car in to get the engine tuned so that all the parts work to gather in acordience. Or can you add stuff and leave it be??

Thank you,

Yup just throwing parts at a dsm without putting thought into what each part does and what else it affects is a recipe for a crappy running..knocking..slow car. The basic exhasut/intake mods work without any knoledge/tuning once you change anything in the fuel system other than the pump, or raise the airflow to where you get fuel cut...you need to understand the whole ecu system, and how additional modifications will change the system.

you don't need to :"take your car in", unless you are incapable to tuning your car. tuning on a dyno with a wideband is the best method, but using a datalogger/egt and some commons sense can go a long way too.
