My friend gave me and installed an AC AutoTechnics fuel pressure regulator on my car and now I'm gettin hella back fire when I let off at high boost. I was told its because its running to rich and the extra fuel isn't burning burned in the cyclinders and is coming out of the exhuast and combusting there. I know you adjust the pressure by turning the the bolt on the regulator but can anyone tell which way to turn it??? Like tighter towards the regulator or out more away from it?? I need to lower the pressure so its not sending all the extra fuel. I have the gauge to tell me the levels but its not hooked up and I don't have an Air to Fuel ratio gauge. If anyone can help please let me know before I mess the #### up. Thanks

I'm not asking for how much, just which way. I can go from there with the tuning but I really need to know which way to turn the bolt. I'm guessing inward and I'm gonna have to go with that unless anybody else can tell me for sure. I just don't want to mess anything up. I pressure was fine on my friend car but it is 2 high for mine.

FP guage...look at it...turn screw...needle moves...

Ummm...feel free to adjust your FP without knowing what it is set at...have fun.

Nah dude i'm not tryin to be stupid at the ####, I just need to turn it down a little so stop the back fire until my gauge gets installed next week. I'm not asking for ####### comments I was just asking for help on which way to turn the bolt. If you don't know, then don't replie.

Look man...you should probably know what you are doing to your car when you make changes like this...do you have Ray Charles tune your AFC for you?..no. I am not trying to be an ass. Here is an inexpensive solution:

Will someone tell this guy which way to turn the screw?

Tell ya what..you tell me what FP you are running and I will call the mfr of your AFPR and ask them which way to turn it...deal?

Once again, I don't need to buy a FP gauge, I have one but have to take off the fuel filter to install it and get the extention arm so its not all the way at the bottom of the engine. I'm not sure exactly what the brand it is or I could easily call myself, my friend just sold his car and gave me the majority of the performance parts off it and set the regulator at the same pressure he was running it at. I wasn't tryin to be complex about anything just wanted to know what direction to turn the bolt to lower it a little bit. If I had all the answers I wouldn't be asking the question, if you don't have one, or don't know how to use one, then don't replie to the question with bullshit comments to try to make me look like an idiot and waste my time.

Turn the screw away fron the fuel rail (lefty loosey) to lower it. Just though you should think about what you are actually doing before you do it...but I guess that it is all bullsh!t comments

Thanks dude thats all I was askin for. To me it would seem logical to turn it tight and maybe that will stop more fuel from going in, but if I do it out that would alive more pressure and lower it. So i wasn't sure which way to go. Thanks for the help once again, and if anyone else knows otherwise please let me know.

Makin sure you saw this. ;) I had to back the screw out on mine (Charged Air AFPR) for the pressure to drop.

turn it counter clockwise 50 turns. you are right, you don't need a fuel pressure gauge it makes no difference:rolleyes: people have tried to give you the correct answer at least 3 times in this thread, and you still refuse to listen. i hope you blow your car up. have a good day.

I knew exactly what PSI it what set at cause we checked it on his pessure gauge before we took it off, his car could handle the up in pressure but mines running to rich. The only thing I asked was which to turn the bolt to bring down the pressure. I only needed to turn it less then half a twist just to relieve it a little bit. There isn't much I can do about the prssure gauge cause its not going on till next week, so telling me thats what i needed wasn't helping. I have to drive the car cause its my ride around, I just wanted to turn the #### done so it would quick back firing, I wasn't talking about adjusting the pressure to an exact PSI. You guys don't have to dickheads about something I just asked a simple question 2. jdmawd, your right, your ride does look a lot nicer then mine, I think i'm might copy your originality. Maybe some of my sponsers would like to send you a contract, thats a real show stopper.

Have one of your sponsors buy you a gauge. What are they? $15?

P.S. will your mom let me take pictures of my car on her lawn?
