I got mine done with snapons' scanner since i had a friend who works at a dealer. Mitsu dealer gave me a quote for about $150, saying that it's gonna be 1 1/2 hrs of labor.

Not sure if you can do this the same on 2G's but for my 1G, i bought a buzzer from Radio shack and put an alligator clip on each wire and then you take that and hook it up to the serial port next to the fuse boxw/ the key on, each long buzz=10 and each short buzz=1. The error code will start w/ a long buzz and end w/ a short buzz. There is a vfaq on how to do it also i believe.

that would be nice
if anyone knows about this or about the vfaq i would appreciate the info
also if anyone knows any other way or has done it in a different way lemme know.

what are the options with the pocketlogger or one of the programs for a palm pilot. I really dont know much about the functions of them so also any info would be appreciated...

as chilton repair manual says, you need to use scan tool and data link connector (16 pin & 12 pin) to read the data. using the buzzer is for 1g only. scan tool cost about $150 or so. check your local auto stores. kragen, pepboys, etc...
