I've made it too. never been on dyno but got some other proofs to prove it. My friend got an 1998 honda civic with b18 ls-vtec turbo, wich make around 340 whp dyno tested, and i was a little faster than him. Raced with a 2005 mustang too. These are sold to make 300hp. The guy had a h-pipe and cold air intake on the mustang, wich is dyno tested to 320 ish whp on the dyno, and i beat him by one car length. So yes, it is possible to make around 340 hp with a 16g pumped at is max, but with many other mods like exhaust and intake, and fuel management.

TD05H-16G: uses 16G 60 trim compressor wheel.
475cfm @ 2PR @ 68%.
520cfm @ 2PR @ 60%.
525cfm max flow 2.3 @ 19psi.
27.6psi max boost limited by compressor wheel speed.

I have a big intake and exhaust that helped a ton. I made my own intake pipe and new big k&n filter and went from 31psi to 36psi. I also have a internal gate that is shimmed. the turbo is very ported and the internal gate is dumped to the atmosphere.

this is on a jdm 1.6liter (1g size intake ports but the smaller combustion chamber) with fp2 cams. the car ran great
Yeah, I said it must be a 1.6. You must be running pretty low fuel pressure to use 80% of 1000's on E85. Even 750's are good for well over 400+WHP on E85 at a richer AFR than that. 12:1 is actually 8:1 on E85, it's confusing to people that don't know about E85 to say 12:1 when it's not.

12 to 1 on a gas calibrated wide-band I mentioned it was on e85 and most people don't recalibrate the wide-bands when going from one to the other, my bad. My fuel pressure is set to 45psi baseline.

And like I said I was at 80% at 7000rpm I shift at 8800rpm.

Timing makes a huge difference, I was running a ton for that boost.

ps my car is full weight turbo mirage with ac and power steering with a 5 gallon water tank for my intercooler. Also I weigh 220-230 depending on the day.

Nice collection... I didn't see the 1g in your first post. That '98 must be MINT I know if you ever decide to sell it it will go for a premium price. Low Mile Panda FTW!!!!

I say this will be based on the fuel being used in most cases.
The race gas, e85, meth injection guys are probably all capable and likely to be making over 300whp.
The straight crappy 91-94 octane guys are probably making sub 300whp on the average setup.

Then you have a lot of guys who just claim numbers or exaggerate to over inflate the 16gs image.
I dont have any 300 + awhp dyno sheets as the only couple times ive dynoed have been with lower boost and less mods than I have now, but logic tells me im likely above 300awhp on 93 octane since the car has no problem trapping 113-115mph.... With my current mods and some race gas ( hopeing for e85 soon) Im going for 120mph traps and mid 11s.

My situation is a little different from most, but in my Evo 1 with a small 16G I was making about 350-360hp. That's only measured by an Apexi Rev/Speed meter so may be off by a little, but it's still way over 300hp. Was running it with 264 Comp Cams, meth injection and a few other tricks up my sleeve.

I remember talking to you on Talk, we came up with your car weighing about 2700lbs, is that with you in it or without? If thats w/o you in the car, Id estimate your power to be about anywere from 320-330 awhp range based on your trap! Sounds about right for a modest meth injection 16g setup!

DSM shootout, low boost (21psi spike, dropping to 18psi), weak timing, fat AFR's (high 10s), my car layed down 307whp on Buschur's Mustang dyno. I was expecting more, but I didn't realize how conservative the car was ( took a long drive down, wasn't paying attention to the car's state of tune until being pressured into putting it on the dyno, oh well).

The next day, I put in some CAM2 110 octane gas, turned up the boost and added some timing , and trapped 120.6mph.

Best trap speed on pumpgas , is in my profile, 119.xx. That was on straight 93 octane.... and I'd hope that'd be in the 350+ whp ballpark. It's gone 118.5mph in the quarter on stock cams.

Car's setup is in my profile, it's just a non-evo big16g , stock motor with cams and well chosen mods.

I have been close. Mods were 2600, 255, afc, exhaust, sm 16g, 21psi, made 285hp 300tq, everything else on the car was stock.

On a different car with 2600, afc, vpc, exhaust, 255, 21psi 14b, dyoned 250hp, 300tq everything else was stock.

So add some decent cams and a FMIC those numbers would easily be over 300. OH yea, an evo 16g vs that small 16 would probably alone put us over 300, it would have held more better boost.

You friend is probably right most 16g cars DON'T make that much, however in the right hands tuned it is easily obtainable.

But remember your old 300awhp dyno on your precam setup was on a dyno jet which does read higher than a mustang dyno.

If you recall, late last year on a mustang dyno, mines did 276awhp & 305 peak torque pre cams, pre external gate, pre gm maft and pre Fp mani on 20psi falling to 17psi. Id think on a dyno jet these numbers wouldve been closer to 300awhp like yours.... Once I get a stronger clutch setup, on this 25psi tune Im aiming for your traps Ryan, I know your cars a little bit lighter but, Id like to see at least 117mph on pump.

Anyways dont take the dynos too seriously, especially when seeing the car actually running at the track and doing 119 pump gas trap speeds on a big16g for example

Yep, Mustang dynos do read lower... I was expecting atleast ~320whp at Buschurs, but I had no time to tune the thing, it was on, 2 pulls, and off. No logged AFR, or Boost, but on the DSMlink log, it was weak boost, fat AFR's and a lot of knock. 6000RPM's had 12* of timing. Oh well.

The dynojet I dynoed last year, I was just at a week after the shootout. Once again, shame, I put down ~309awhp, but the car was picking up 7*++ of knock. Apparently my driveshaft was rubbing on the exhaust... The car couldn't put down decent numbers, whatever. Buschur's numbers were better, but I'd think in my car's prime, on a dynojet, it would be 350+.

But like you said, trap and e/t is MUCH more important to me I'll tell everyone on the street it only puts down 300 to the wheels I think my car just hates dynos.

Horsepower isnt the only thing to look at, what kind of torque was your car putting down?

I dont even speculate anymore I just prefer to go by what the timeslip at the track shows. And in your case, screw the dyno

Out of curiousity I hope I can dyno my car again soon, Im guestimating on a mustang dyno id show put down about 325-335AWHP depending how clean the pull was.

Man I need to get my car dynoed. Im guessing 400+whp from the boost levels I'm running and cars I have said goodbye too. 16g hits 30+psi (guessing 32-34psi) and falls to about 26psi by redline. Timing is conservative when the turbo spikes and is at about 22* by redline. Im running a safe 11.5 afr on e85 and I get 2-5 counts knock at most on a hot day. When I get some better tuning I will be adding a 75 wet shot of some nitrous and hope I can see near 500whp.

Back when I had an evoIII16g, I never had it on the dyno but based on logs, 1/4 mile traps, 70-90 times & comparing it to my buddies that has been on the dyno, I would say I was over the 300 whp mark & he is as well.
