raise your hand if you have made over 300+ hp on a 16g

yeah just wanted to get a list started for a friend.

He believes that most bolted on dsm 16g cars with proper fuel support make less than 300hp

Just show him This, 460awhp/469ftlbs

And Curt Brown's 499 awhp

Tell him these are just 2 examples of what a 16G is capable of in the "right" hands. But for average Tuners. 300 whp is just a basic tune.

the megan fpr is actually successful? the megan fprs are the ebay fprs with megan brand and add $10-20 more on top for the better brand and customer service--or lack there of, that comes from megan. i was thinking about those (without the megan tag), but there wasn't too many reviews on it, care to tell us about yours?

I made 294 AWHP on Ca pump 91 craptane. And this was a tune that was prety conservative as it is my daily driver and I get about 23mpg at this power. And mine isn't even and E3 it's just a Big 16G un-ported.

Well, that sounds promising to me because that is the turbo I will be putting on in the next couple of days. What fuel mods do you have with that?

the megan fpr wansn't bad at all, the only reson i solled it was becouse its wasnt bling bling as the aeromotive ones that was it, as for the tune let me state that i mad 346 with the e316g but tuned with dsmlink and concervative.

this is the one from sbr--

Slowboy Racing, Inc. :: DSM :: Fuel :: Fuel Pressure Regulators :: Megan Racing :: Fuel Pressure Regulator

and this is the one from ebay--

eBay Motors: FULL ADJUSTABLE GUAGE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR KIT Chrom (item 120298076713 end time Aug-29-08 13:10:22 PDT)

the one i had was the same things as this 2, but it was a from seller and he was selling it as a used megan fpr for 20$ so i got on it, to me it looks just like the sbr one and when i had it it was just as good as my aeromotive.

Pretty sure that I was over 300. As I am dead even with a 600+whp supercharged 2004 viper. I put 3 to 4 cars on a c5 vette that ran 121 in the quarter. and can walk away from my friends on 600cc sportbikes (brand new ones) all on the interstate.

This was on a e316g and e85 on 35-36psi of boost and 26* of timing with a 8800rpm rev limiter. (boost would drop off after 7300rpm to between 30 and 33psi depending on the outside temp).

that was on a stock 4g61t motor.

I did 370.9AWHP on a Dyno Dynamics, which is said to read lower than any other dyno. This was on E85, with the boost 25psi falling to about 22.5.

35PSI - how? External wastegate or no wastegate at all? Try a different boost gauge for a second opinion; when I first got my car I thought I was at 24psi, got a new gauge and I was actually at like 17. I can't see a 16G holding that kind of boost except maybe on a 1.6L Hyundai. I can hit like 31psi at 3500rpms and still can't get past 24-25psi at like 5 grand. Post a video.

My air-fuel ratios were at 12.0to1 across the whole rev range. and I was at 80% duty cycle on 1000cc injectors at 7000. I was reving to 8800.

I have a big intake and exhaust that helped a ton. I made my own intake pipe and new big k&n filter and went from 31psi to 36psi. I also have a internal gate that is shimmed. the turbo is very ported and the internal gate is dumped to the atmosphere.

this is on a jdm 1.6liter (1g size intake ports but the smaller combustion chamber) with fp2 cams. the car ran great

until a rod bolt let go :-(
I had ZERO knock up to 7000 and then the bolt let loose.

I have had 2 different boost guages in the car. both the same.

Make a really big intake and the biggest exhaust you can stand it makes a difference!

I will have a 2liter in the car soon with the same mods so we will see how that goes.
