I have a 97 GSX. I'm in the beginning stages of crankwalk... and I am soon going to replace the crankshaft, but I've been saving money up and decided to go ahead and upgrade all the engine internals so when i eventually upgrade the turbo it can take it. I'll admit i don't know much about cars and thats why I started looking at forums and they have helped me out a lot. In the engine internal area i know of the pistons, rods, cam, crankshaft, headgasket, but my question is what are all the engine internals and what companys would you guys recommend buying the different engine internals from. Either phone numbers or web sites of the different companys would be helpful. Thank you.

what we suggest would be directly related to the goals of your car, ie what turbo do you plan to run, what power are you looking to make, are you intending on using nitrous, is the car a daily driver etc etc etc

Yes, the car will be a daily driver. When I get the money I plan on running either a 20G or a garret T3/T4, which would you recommend. No, I don't want to run nitrous. I would like to get up to around the 350-400 horse mark. Also I would like to try and get the best engine internals for around $3000. Thank you.

first off if your engine is getting CW..i wouldnt rebuild it. Chances are..like about 9/10 the car is going to CW again. I would go with a 6bolt swap and then upgrade the internals. It would be a huge waste of money for you to put all the internals in the CW engine and have it do it again. Also the stock engine on 2gs can hold around 400hp..you might not even need to upgrade that much. Personally if my engine walks i am getting a 6bolt swap with 91 big rods and a 95 pistions. rdkt has that same setup and is loving it. Try searching around this site has lots of info on it. GL

You might want to get a 6-bolt swap with 95 pistons.

Even if you replace the crankshaft, it can still happen again.

just as the other 2 said.. 6 bolt with 91 big rods/95 pistons. Thats what you want.. dont bother rebuilding the 7 bolt if its walking. a 6 bolt with this setup will be ALOT less then 3000.

your the 2nd person Ive said this to today but the guy who built my engine for me (HighPsi91) lives in PA. I dont know where about in NJ you are but if you want someone who knows what there doing and has done it before to build and install your engine I strongly suggest talking to him. It cant hurt to send him an email :) this is his email address

Thanks guys for the info. Where would I be able to find some more info on a 6 bolt swap and the 91 rods and 95 pistons. Any other info would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Thank for all the info guys. larryd i emailed that guy and he is only like 45 mins away from me. Thanks. Also would i be able to bolt my 2g trans onto the 6 bolt. Also could i use my Injen intake and TurboXs RFL bov on the 6 bolt. Thank you
