My car has a 255lph pump w/o rewire and mild bolt-ons (3" turbo back, UICP, Air intake, intake hard pipe, 1g bov, mbc). I get 21mpg at 136k miles, but I think dialing the fuel in will allow for 23-25mpg and better acceleration characteristic as it seems to bog from overfueling down low.

I was thinking either the OBX unit on ebay:

eBay Motors: OBX 95-99 ECLIPSE 4G63T FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR FPR (item 370074714110 end time Aug-10-08 22:32:02 PDT)

or this one:

eBay Motors: Mitsubishi Eclipse Autoteq Fuel Pressure Regulator FPR (item 320176371250 end time Aug-24-08 18:35:09 PDT)

Anyone use either of these? I know the rising rate type is required and that Aeromotive is recommended, but I don't wanna drop that kinda cash as I may need to sell the car shortly.

Also any installation expertise? Am I missing anything or is it simply remove stock and add aftermarket?

personally i would not cheap out on something as important as a fpr. get the Aeromotive and call it a day.

FPR is a pretty simple device, you should be able to get away with an e-bay item provided you are sure there are no leaks. That doesn't mean, however, that it will work well or properly. You should also be advised that you will need something adjustable and with a gauge. I would steer clear of the OBX item... I can't even tell that's an FPR.

IF you go with that second link. I would immediatly take it apart and Reseal EVERYTHING! its a cheap knock off and will probly leak from the start! but at 49$ its worth a try.. But whos to say that it even meters the fuel correctly.. some FPR's have been known to be off upwards of 5psi or more!.

Your call.. Personally I would go with a aeromotive or mallory FPR!. I have both and they have withstood years of abuse!

ok. I just need the Aeromotive FPR? No fittings / adapters etc?
