i have a 95 gs-t and about a few months ago i bought a used motor and installed it, now not running do to cas. i was wondering if anyone knows where i might be able to find a 1g black top or a 2g cas. by the way the motor has it on the passenger side of the cam not under the gear on the driver side. any help or suggestions would be greatly aprreciated. thanks a lot in advance guys.

Well depending on what motor you put in your car will determine which CAS you need. It's as simple as this though... If it's your stock engine (2g block and 2g head) you need a 2g cas. If you put a 1g head on then you'll need a 1g cas (black or green top).

You can get the cas at a dealership, junkyard, extremepsi. If it's a 1g cas you need, definitely don't get it through a vendor or the dealership. They're very expensive new. On a side note, if you need a 1g cas pm me - I have a couple in my garage.

EDIT - I didn't read your post completely.... You said it's on the passenger side, you need a 1g cas then.

Also, you'll need the 1g in a 2g harness. You can buy it from Magnus or RRE or make one yourself. Also, since your car is a 95-96 you have to change the pins on your ecu. These links should help...

If you have a 97 ECU and your cam angle sensor is located on the rear/intake side of the head, chances are the head (maybe the whole longblock) is from a 97-99. In which case you will need a CAS from a 97-99.

Here's how it goes, just to clarify:
95-96 CAS is located under the intake cam gear and is a blade-type
97-99 CAS is located on the rear/intake side of the head

All 2g's have a crank position sensor *CPS* that is located in the thread here:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/301026-where-crank-angle-sensor-2g.html

You NEED both a CAS and a CPS to successfully run your engine or you only need a SINGLE 1G CAS to do the work, because it outputs both signals.

well i ordered it from a company called nagasaki motors which runs out of canada so im not sure what the motor came out of. Do you know where i can order one with the wire plug.
