I noticed that the manifold outlet is HUUUUGE compared to the inlet on my 13b,and i was wondering if this will cause any problems.I know it wont be the best thing for flow, but should I see any negative effects that could cause the car to not run right? Also when I replace the turbo/manifold gasket should I cut the gasket hole to match the manifold,or leave the hole thats in there to match the stock turbo.I havent recieved the gasket yet,so I dont even know if there is a hole or if its different then what Im thinkin it is.I just wanted to post this cause Ill prolly be finishing up the head replacement tonight,so Im hoping for an answer by later on today. Thanks!!

If you have the stock 14b in there I would just leave the gasket how it is (6cm I assume). You wont have anything bad happen to the car at all, but it prolly wont help much at all considering the port is going to be blocked and cause a restriction. But when you do get a 7cm or larger turbo it will help more than you know

The stock AT turbo is a 13g.

The inlet is SIGNIFIGANTLY smaller than the outlet of an evo manifold. Port out the 13g's 5cm housing as best you can to match up to the stock evo manifold outlet, and DON'T port the evo manifold. When you get a bigger (real :D ) turbo, you can port the evo manifold and new exhaust housing out.

If you don't port-match, or at least get close, the mismatch in inlet-outlets at the turbo/manifold connection will slow spool, and kill the exhaust flow. Exhaust likes nice smooth transitions, not slamming into a 1cm+ smaller hole.

As for negative effects, the hot exhaust slamming into the unported turbo inlet like that will form cracks in the turbo's exhaust housing faster, since it's going to be a wall that 1500deg exhaust will be slamming into whenever the car is running.

ok if i was to port it do i have to take the whole turbo apart,or can i just take it off the car?im going to try my best to find a 16g for a reasonable price.im still jobless at the moment and everything has been going on credit,so i really dont want to put a $700 turbo on that along with everything else, but i think im gonna end up doing that anyways.but i think for the time being ill port the 13b as best i can.i just need a running car right now.:(

Well I though that you were considering getting a new turbo soon and were just going to be driving the car for a little while like that which is why I suggested something like that. It will hurt performance as said by me and raver... if your going to be keeping your 13b you should definetly port it out. yes youll need off the turbine housing (unbolt that clamp in the middle and your set, very easy) so you dont get scraps in your turbo as that would most definetly make it fail very quickly. I wouldnt go into porting it to much though, they crack very easily so dont get crazy. Did you buy the spcer with the manifold or not (the one that goes in between the gaskets and lips on the manifold and turbo?) Either way just try and port the very top of the turbine housing as close as you can to match the 60mm evo manny outlet =) that way you wont have a lip that the exhaust will be hitting. Sinec your not going to be running the turbo forever and considering that 13g's are peices of sh!t... dont get all nutty deeper inside cause its not a big deal. So long as that step from the contact between the manny and turbine housing is gone youll be fine! Good luck
