Anyone Gut there cat??

Just wondering if there is much/any gain from gutting the cats on a 1st gen DSM's. I did it on my camaro and it was a nice little gain, and I was still able to pass Emissions with it like that so does anyone do that on DSM's?

personally, I wouldnt worry about gutting the cat I would just replace it with a D/P with the cat eliminated.

I cut the stock cat right out and replaced it with a piece of pipe. The car seemed to have more power and revved freer. Not a night and day difference, but noticeable. I'd go for it.

I could tell a huge difference considering that was like my first mod and really first time noticing more power in a DSM. I had the cat gutted and 2.5 pipes back with a mellow tone muffler. Its really othe combination of things that make it good. Porting, K&N, downpipe, you get it to breath better and flow better, you will tell a major difference in performace on the Ass Dyno, and the actaul dyno itself.
