Hey guys, I have a problem.

I just installed my new 3' intake pipe and filter today and afterward when I started driving it I noticed it drops my rpm's almost to 0 when I put the car in neutral during shifts or usually when I am coming to a stop. Also sometimes it will stall completely.

When I installed the new intake I used the same hoses that were on my stock intake so I don't think it would have anything to do with them? I'm really confused why this is happening because i'm still using my MAF and everything looks like it should function normally. My BOV is still recirculated.

Help! :p

Forgot to mention my car is completely STOCK except the intake.

Make shure your MAF is plugged in all the way. Your symptoms are exactly what my car did when I forgot to plug my MAF back up.. :nono:

I did plug the MAF back in though. :\

take off the filter and adapter too see if the honeycombs fell out...i had the same problem...and recheck to see if its plugged in as stated above

EDIT!!!

mine fell out and wouldn't stay in...i used a high PSI plastic weld for a temp. but u will definitely need to get a new one if this is the case...the plastic weld is only good for a temp IMO

that and check and make sure you didnt leave any vacuum ports open and lose lines floating around

I had the same problem after I installed my 3" intake as well. Just like you, I double checked and ensured that all of my connections were accounted for, including the bov recirc connection... But at the end, the only thing that corrected it for me was to raise the idle rpm a bit. Once the idle was raised, the stalling problem never resurfaced again and the car drove like a champ.

you mean by adjusting the throttle cable? My idle is fine when the car starts up though. Just when I've been driving it and boosting that it starts to act funny.

My idle was fine when the car wasn't moving as well, it only stalled when I was coming to a stop... I adjusted the idle speed on my 1g by turning the BISS (Base Idle Set Screw), while grounding an electrical connection to prevent the computer from "fighting" the adjustment.

If you want to give the idle adjustment a try, check out this link:

It's a fairly easy procedure and only takes a few minutes, so it might be worth a shot for you. Hope it works out.

ok man thanks a lot. I'll give it a shot. It seems though if I put it in neutral and then give it some gas, it won't drop the rpm's to 0.

im not sure how to actually ground it though. :\
