(1995 gst) Ok let me start from the beginning. Two days ago right after I turned right my car just died. So i towed it back to my place and starting checking it out. Thought the pump went out so I put my buddies in, it started but ran terrible, wouldnt make it 100 yards. I checked for spark and it was getting spark out of the plugs, thought maybe it was the coil pack so I unplugged mine and plugged in his coil on plug and it did the same thing. The car will run but its hard to start and when it does it doesnt run long before it dies out again. Tried out his MAF and same thing. Also when it runs the tach bounces around which is why I think its some kind of sensor. I scanned it with a scanner from work and the codes were P0170 fuel trim, P0136 o2, P0141 o2 heater, P0500 vss, P0125 closed loop fuel control. Anyone have any other ideas? Even if the o2 is bad, the car wouldn't do all this I dont think. Would a bad map or IAC cause all this? Could it be a bad fuel injector? I NEED HELP FELLAS!

Check the connection to the power transistor. If its not the connector, it is probably the transistor itself.

Connector is circled in red.

I don't mean to throw the crankwlk card too soon, but the symptoms listed would make me nervous. Dying on a right hand turn was the classic first symptom for many people with 95-96s back in the day. Everything else listed fits the bill. I would check the crank thrust play before doing anything else, just to rule it out.

I'm pretty sure people complained of the sticking clutch during a left hand turn. Also, there is no crank sensor for the walking shaft to eat through and cause the motor to die on a 6bolt, as it is all controlled through the camshaft sensor. So the crank would walk itself right out of the block more or less until it tossed a bearing.

Have you checked your ECU caps lately?

My 95 has 158k on it when I pulled the 7b out and sold it as a core and it looked mint. I have seen more 97-98 crank walk issues than anything.
